Toddler breaks off-road speed record
On Thursday, riders and friends of the RMF Caroline Team began the off-road speed record test. The new record holder in the general classification and in the T2 class was Adam Malysh, who accelerated to 180 km/h and broke last year's record of Albert Grischuk (176 km/h).
On the fourth of five laps, Adam's car slightly flipped after braking hard in a corner. The driver left the car on his own. - I braked too hard, and after the corner the outside wheel got stuck in the sand. Just before the flip, I felt that the wheel was jammed. A few moments later, I calmly got out of the car, - said Adam Malysz from RMF Caroline Team. - Of course, my adrenaline jumped, but the safety cage, good belts and the HANS system (head and neck restraint system for the driver) guarantee complete safety in such situations, - Adam added.

"The car received minor damage to the body after the rollover, but every team is prepared for this kind of damage. The most important thing is that Adam was fine. He has already been examined by doctors. The car may be ready for further driving in just a few dozen minutes, but now we will only secure it and prepare it for a comprehensive visit to the site," said Albert Grischuk, head of the RMF Caroline Team.
At the start of the five-kilometer track at the training ground in Zagan, there were 7 participants who competed in three car categories (T1, T2 and Open) and in the ATV category.
Starting in the T1 class were: Miroslav Zapletal (163 km/h), one of the highest ranking FIA drivers, and Rafal Marton (147 km/h), driver Adam Malysh, a multiple participant in the Dakar rally (both on Mitsubishi). Adam Malysz started in the T2 class with the Porsche RMF Caroline Team (180 km/h). The open class was represented by Marcin Lukaszewski (142 km/h) and Alexander Shandrovsky (148 km/h). Lukasz Laskawiec (142 km/h) and Maciej Albinowski (139 km/h) started on ATVs.
