Autumn car trips can be just as enjoyable as summer vacations under the scorching sun. Whether on long trips or short daily trips, safety is important. Unfortunately, not only winter surprises drivers - already in the fall there are unfavorable road conditions.

First of all: slow driving

You should start by modifying summer habits, and then prepare the car for different weather conditions. You can't underestimate the faster twilight, frequent rains, temperatures even below freezing, and the sun that stays above the horizon and blinds you. Slower driving is necessary primarily because of the wet road surface, which means longer braking distances and more difficult cornering maneuvers.

Second: keep the upholstery clean and fresh.

After washing, the upholstery should be well ventilated, and even more so washing the car at sub-zero temperatures would not be the best solution. It is also worth protecting the paint from chemicals used to clean road surfaces.

Third: check your windshield wipers and windows.

The glass should be thoroughly washed, all dirt removed and an insect remover applied. It is worth wiping the wiper blades with a white cloth soaked in alcohol until there are no traces of dirt on the white cloth. However, before starting this treatment, make sure that the feathers are not chipped or cracked. In this case, the wipers should be replaced.

Fourth: take care of the electrician

High levels of air humidity mean that motorists must take care of the safety of high-voltage cables so as not to cause a short circuit in the electrical system. In the case of new cars, you need to take care of: exposed electrical contacts, fuse boxes, battery clamps and carefully check the fuses responsible for defrost and ventilation. Fifth: Air conditioning and light

After the summer period, the ventilation ducts become dirty, which impairs their patency and leads to inefficient operation of vents and air conditioners. It is a good idea to vacuum the drains and outlets inside the car, clean and dry the pollen filters. By taking care of ventilation, you can avoid the problem of fogging windows. You also need to check the performance of the headlights and, if necessary, replace the bulbs with more powerful ones.

Sixth: checking seals

Moisture penetrating inside is dangerous and causes an unpleasant smell. Therefore, it is worth taking care of door seals and window guides to avoid unwanted ingress of moisture. Silicone or glycerin preparations will help in caring for the gums. Be sure to clean the velor pads with soap and water, dry them, and use silicone spray only where the glass rubs against the pad.
