Transformer oil T-1500U
Overview
In the profile market, two grades of transformer oil with similar characteristics are offered - T-1500 and T-1500U. The difference between them lies in the fact that the T-1500 brand does not meet international specifications in its parameters, and therefore is not recommended for use with imported power equipment units.
The activation of offers for T-1500U oil increased after (due to environmental difficulties) two years ago the production of TKp oil, an analogue of the product under consideration, was limited in Russia. Acid effluents generated during the purification of the specified transformer oil have a negative impact on the environment and cannot be neutralized. Therefore, it is recommended to dilute containers with TKp oil with T-1500U oil.
Performance specifications
Oil T-1500U belongs to transformer oils of the 2nd group, which are subjected to combined acid-base purification during the production process. They work stably in conditions of low ambient temperatures. The oil indicators regulated by the standard are:
- Density at room temperature, kg/m3 - 885.
- Kinematic viscosity at room temperature, mm2/s - 13.
- Kinematic viscosity at the minimum allowable temperature (-40°C), mm2/s - 1400.
- Acid number in terms of KOH, not more than 0,01.
- ignition temperature, °C, not less than 135.
- Mass fraction of sulfur and its compounds, %, not more than - 0,3.
GOST 982-80 does not allow the presence of mechanical precipitation in the product, as well as water-soluble acids and alkalis.
Compared to TKp oil, the T-1500U grade is distinguished by increased dielectric strength. Therefore, when arc discharges occur at the ends of high-voltage bushings, the T-1500U oil temperature increases extremely slightly, which contributes to the stabilization of the cooling process.
Transformer oil T-1500U is also characterized by increased resistance to corrosion. This is achieved due to the presence of effective additives in the composition - ionol, agidol-1, DPBC, etc. At the same time, the most important indicator of the quality factor of the oil - the value of the dielectric loss tangent - remains at a low level over a long service life (up to 20 years).
Feature of application
Transformer oil T-1500U has high gas resistance, therefore it is successfully used in electrical installations of rolling stock of railways, where the conditions for switching on devices can quickly change.
Other applications are anti-spark impregnation of capacitor board and other materials with a fibrous structure. It is not recommended to use this product in case of high concentration of oxygen compounds, and also as a passivating additive to various energy oils, since the acid number increases and the resistivity to oxidation decreases.
Transformer oil T-1500U is found both imported (Azerbaijan) and domestically produced. In the first case, the properties of the oil must comply with the standards of TU 38.401.58107-94.
