Oil TSZp-8. Analogues, price and characteristics

Features

According to the API international classification, TSZp-8 oil is included in the GL-3 group, and according to the designation of the American SAE standard, it is assigned the category 75W-80. These designations define:

  1. The total percentage of additives is not more than 2,7.
  2. The impossibility of using grease in hypoid gears and in engines.
  3. Preferred application for operating modes of vehicles with an average load of lubricated elements.
  4. The presence of special additives that compensate for increased sliding friction.

A distinctive feature of TSZp-8 gear oil is its corrosivity to some non-ferrous alloys (brass, bronze), which is due to the presence of active phosphorus and sulfur compounds in its composition. Therefore, it is recommended to add a certain amount of corrosion inhibitors to the composition of the product, which do not form an emulsion with the main components and do not reduce the viscosity of the oil to values less than 7,5 mm.2/from.

Increased viscosity is one of the reasons why TSZp-8 oil has a higher load capacity than other popular types of gear oils (for example, TAP-15v).

Other physical and mechanical characteristics of the oil are as follows:

  • Density, kg / m3: 850… 900.
  • Viscosity range at 100 °C, mm2/ s: 7,5… 8,5.
  • Ignition temperature, °С, not less: 164.
  • Thickening temperature, °C, no more: -50.
  • Rated operational load, N: - 2000.
  • Maximum operational load, N: 2800.

In the gear oil under consideration, the production of which is determined by the norms of TU 38.1011280-89, traces of sulfur and phosphorus compounds, as well as water, are allowed.

Reviews and analogues of oil

Most reviews note that in order to ensure a higher degree of versatility of TSZp-8 oil, it is desirable to add polymethacrylate or polyalkylstyrene to its composition. As a result, the fluidity of the oil does not increase significantly when heated, but the oil becomes all-weather. The percentage of additives should not exceed 3 ... 5% of the total lubricant volume. Polymethacrylate is also a pour point depressant, increasing the performance of the oil at low ambient temperatures.

The closest foreign analogues of TSZp-8 oil are Autran GM-MP from the British Petroleum brand, Deusol TFA from Castrol, and Shell Donax TD.

Deciphering the symbol for transmission oil TSZp-8 includes:

  • T - transmission;
  • Szp - grease used mainly in helical gears;
  • 8 - average kinematic viscosity at 100 °C, in mm2/from.

The price of products is determined by the volume of oil packaging. When packing in barrels with a capacity of 216 liters, the prices for this product start from 14000 rubles, and when packed in 20-liter canisters - from 2500 rubles.
