Mazda has announced it will end production of the CX-3 SUV by 2022.

Poor sales of the Mazda6 and Mazda CX-3 last year forced the car firm to decide to end production in 2022 and focus on producing its first electric SUV: the Mazda MX-30.

It is no secret that sedans drop out of the range of manufacturers vehicles, as there is currently a trend in which consumers have a certain preference for SUVs.

The reason for the decline in sales of sedan cars and any other vehicles may be the low level of sales. Mazda is grappling with this fact and confirmed last Friday that it will remove two models from its range.

Which Mazda models are involved?

It used to be discontinued, but now subcompact crossover CX-3 it joins the list of models that the Japanese firm will stop producing in the 2022 model year. The automaker indicated that changing consumer interests was a key reason for the disappearance of these cars.

How many Mazda6s were sold in 2020?

The Mazda6 is an enthusiast's choice for midsize sedans, with precise steering and lots of chassis upgrades, and it's also a really good car. But buyers in that space prefer things like passenger space, fuel efficiency and beefy safety and infotainment technology, and the Mazda6 has lagged behind its classmates in that regard.

In total, Mazda sold 16,204 Mazdas. in the United States in 2020. By comparison, Honda sold 199,458 Accords, Hyundai sold 76,997 Sonatas, and Toyota managed to launch the Camry.

The Mazda CX-3 can't keep up with the competition in the market.

Despite its performance and practical features, the CX-3 subcompact crossover also sells very slowly and isn't as good as its Honda HR-V, Hyundai Kona or Kia Seltos rivals. In addition, it has a nicer interior, is more pleasant to drive, and can be ordered with a powerful turbocharger. No doubt the CX-3 has been replaced by a member of his own family.

as Mazda removes Mazda6 and CX-3Preparing in the United States, this is Mazda's first all-electric vehicle with great styling and sophistication, and is expected to go on sale in California next fall.
