Mazda2 G90 Revolution

The life of cars that are with us in extended tests or supertests is not easy. Not because they will be mistreated (on the contrary, they usually get much more care than the average Slovenian driver's car), but because they often have to do things that are not their main task.

Our extended Mazda2 test is a typical example: a car designed for urban and suburban use, more for a second than a first car at home, was often loaded with four adults and a full trunk, and the longer highway routes were also very familiar to it. In fact, he spent a small part of his time at home, but this did not bother him at all.

Even those who went on an extraordinarily long journey in the Mazda2 didn't find a bad word to say about it. There were no complaints about the seats, just enough praise for the infotainment system including navigation – together they made sure longer trips were less boring. Less impressive was only the manually controlled air conditioner (although it is quite effective on hot days) and the fact that the light must be turned on manually, since the deuce in the equipment of the Attraction does not have a backlight. turns on automatically. But this is also a problem for the legislator: since daytime running lights are mandatory, automatic headlights should be required by law.

The 1,5-liter gasoline engine in our twin was that 90-horsepower average. It is not as lively as the most powerful 115-horsepower version, but has not received negative reviews for its capabilities. On the contrary, it gets quite a lot of praise for its otherwise quiet performance, which only gets a little louder on the highway. It is not the engine that is to blame, but only the five-speed transmission, as the six-speed has only a 115-horsepower version. So there are a few more revs on the highway, but on the other hand, the engine, thanks to its ample flexibility and well-calculated gear ratios for city driving, thrives on streets where speeds are much lower.

Consumption? On our normal lap, it settled at 4,9 liters, which is quite a lot for a gasoline-powered car. The fact that the trial range was around seven liters is neither surprising nor bad due to the many longer and faster routes. This only proves that most drivers will get by with just five to six liters of gasoline. This information, like the car in general, deserves a positive assessment.

Thus, the Mazda2 has proven that it can easily meet the demands of more demanding drivers, but at the same time, it is quite attractive and attractive.
