Description of devices KPP Renault JH3
In 2001, the outdated JB series manuals were replaced by the new JH line. By design, this is a conventional two-shaft manual transmission with five forward gears and one reverse. Synchronizers are available in all forward gears, but reverse without a synchronizer. At first, the transmission was produced in Seville, Spain, and then at the Dacia plant in Pitesti.
The shift mechanism is combined in one housing with a differential and final drive, the control is carried out using a rigid rod, and the clutch drive is a conventional cable. Based on this mechanics, the popular robotic box JS3 or Easy'R was created.

Renault JH3 gearbox service regulations
The oil in the manual transmission is considered to be filled for the entire service life, but we recommend changing it every 60 km. The box contains 000 liters of Elf Tranself NFJ 3.2W-75, and when replaced, it comes in just under 80 liters.
Disadvantages, breakdowns and problems of the JH3 box
This mechanic is reliable, but is famous for not very clear switching and it only gets worse with mileage. You also need to remember that the reverse gear does not have a synchronizer. Until 2008, the 1-2 gear synchronizer quickly wore out and was replaced with a double one.
On specialized forums, owners of cars with such a transmission complain most of all about lubricant leaks, and the left-hand drive oil seal is the most famous leak here. Leaks often occur from under the gear selection rod or through the reverse sensor.
Also, there is often a backlash of the manual transmission lever, how to eliminate it is shown in detail here.
The manufacturer claims a JH3 gearbox resource of 150 km, but it also serves more than 000 km.
