Less empty, more frets Drivers should not be “feigned” to scare, because even then they “pretend”.

In our voivodeship, school security needs to be strengthened by installing life-size models of police officers on their premises. However, such a scarecrow works once, maximum twice. After that, the driver knows that he is dealing with a layout. According to an online survey, the majority of drivers put the models of police cars at the bottom of the rating. At first, flat profiles were placed, probably from plywood. From afar, it looks like a police car, but the closer, the worse. now more and more often I see exhibitions of old, closed polonaises, painted like police cars. This keeps you on your toes until slightly closer. Both forms, however, are disposable horror stories. However, most of the traffic on our roads is local, especially when it comes to police dummies on the roads near schools. So the scarecrow will soon cease to scare. The only really effective way to slow down is speed bumps. You can't assume that it's a mannequin or that the policeman isn't looking. The "deceitful cop" is always at his post and cannot be ignored. I agree, the installation of thresholds everywhere forcing you to drive at a speed of 20 km / h is an exaggeration. You can choose the height and slope of the threshold so that it works only above a speed of 40-50 km / h. And, frankly, teapots can be helped too. Once every few days you have to put a real patrol there, then the drivers can only closely assess whether there is a real policeman next to the artificial police car.

The most effective ways to limit speed (according to the online survey of the action "Kierowca na szóstkę")

  • deceleration threshold 37 percent.
  • police control 24%
  • video cameras 20%
  • road signs 11 percent
  • subtitles "radar check" 4 percent.
  • imitation police cars on the roadside 4%
