• road tests - determination of dynamic and driving characteristics;
• reliability - minimum breakdowns;
• high level of safety according to the results of crash tests.

You can also cite dozens or even hundreds of such ratings that are held at various car dealerships and shows, as well as in the editorial offices of well-known automotive publications, including Russian ones. However, a simple buyer who stands in a car dealership and thinks about which car to buy is interested in the following parameters:

• reliability;
• price;
• maintenance cost.

In terms of reliability, the Mercedes-Benz CLA 250 was voted the most unreliable luxury sedan of 2014. The Lexus IS 350 became the most reliable. By the way, according to many Americans, it is Lexus that has been ranked first in terms of reliability for several years. And in the world ranking, the most reliable are Toyota Corolla and Toyota Prius.

But the Mercedes-Benz GLK and Mercedes E-class were recognized as the most reliable premium crossover and sedan, respectively. The BMW 2-series was named the best coupe of 2015.

The prices for new BMW and Mercedes cars are about the same - the Mercedes A series costs from about 1,35 million. The same amount will have to be paid for the BMW 1 series. They are quite expensive to maintain, even at unofficial service stations, but if we talk about fuel consumption, then it is directly proportional to the class - the higher the class, the more gasoline is required. But it is not necessary to believe in fairy tales that such cars are literally filled with money. The same Mercedes A-180 consumes about 5-6 liters in the combined cycle, and the GL400 crossover consumes 7-8 liters of diesel or 9-9,5 gasoline in the combined cycle.
