Dead space. Deadly danger for pedestrians

Many pedestrians lack imagination. They enter the road regardless of the speed and, as a result, the stopping distance of the car or the blind spot of the driver. To draw attention to these aspects, the Mszczonowski district asp. Sławomir Zieliński organized the event under the slogan "Road safety through the eyes of a driver".

The truck drove into the school playground at the elementary school in Mszczonów, and anyone, both a child and an adult, could get into it to see the visibility of the driver from such a large car.

Only from this point of view can one fully understand how dangerous it is to walk next to a truck. From his seat, the driver does not have the ability to directly see people standing even a meter from the bumper. He must use the upper panoramic mirror. If he does not look at them or cannot see a pedestrian dressed in dark clothing after dark, disaster is set.

In order to better visualize the problem for young people, dead zones are provided around the car, i.e. places where the driver cannot see what is happening on the road.

The policeman also shared his professional experience with young people, thanks to which he was able to talk about the thoughtless behavior of pedestrians and cyclists in traffic. Pedestrians often lack imagination and irresponsibly rush onto the road, ignoring the longer stopping distance of a road train loaded with several tons of cargo.

In addition, the youth had the opportunity to interact with a driver who drives a truck almost every day. He himself admits that dangerous events occur not only due to speeding, but also due to the fact that the attention of pedestrians is focused on mobile phones, and not on the road.

The meeting was initiated by asp. piece Slavomir Zelinski. The November weather was not terrible for the militiaman. With the action “Road safety through the eyes of a driver”, the district inspector from Mszczonów informs the younger generation about the great importance of careless behavior on the road.
