Mini Cooper S Cabrio automatic transmission

The mini was once the main means of transportation for the masses, but those days are long gone. Now Minis are bigger, technically advanced, more expensive and more prestigious. But something remains (at least for the most part): a sense of driving pleasure, precision, connection with the road.

Even this Mini, although it is a convertible and has an automatic transmission, has not gone missing. Automatics aren't particularly worrisome: they're more enjoyable in city crowds when it comes to leisurely cruises, and quick and decisive enough when it comes to sportier driving. While the driver shifts the car to sport mode using the rotary switch on the gear lever, he also knows how to add intermediate throttle when downshifting and how to sportively cut when upshifting. When we add to that the loud racing crackle of the off-throttle exhaust and the solid and precise suspension and steering gear, it's clear that this Mini does a good job in a sporty role.

What about that other, more relaxed role? If you lower the roof, install the windshield above the rear seats (they are still on the verge of usability) and raise the side windows, this Mini can be comfortable enough even at higher speeds and even over long distances. However, you can slow down, lower the windows, and the wind in the cabin will be just right for faster trips in the regions, and on city cruises you can easily survive without a wind net. As we're used to with Mini convertibles, the roof doesn't fold into the body, but remains above the trunk (and boldly obscures the rear view of the driver), and you'll fit a couple of bags into the trunk through a tiny opening, but don't count on more serious suitcases. But such a Mini Cabrio doesn't want to be a “normal” car anyway, with room for a family and a lot of luggage. It wants to be a car that is good enough when the weather is not conducive to a low roof and road conditions are uninteresting when cornering, and at the same time, a car that lives a whole new, fun and dynamic life in the two. roles. image. And it works great for him.
