Mini One (55 kW)

See where we're aiming? The Mini One is a great car, but this time the version we got to test had the weakest engine in the lineup. The 1kW 4-litre four-cylinder does a good job of getting the vehicle from point A to point B, but what if the car, with all its components, is tuned for driving pleasure and cornering chases.

Let's start with the look. It's hard to see that this is the basic Mini. If someone drilled a hole in the hood for him, he would easily deceive someone that it is a Cooper S. Only the small wheels tell him that this is the basic version.

Looking inside, it is difficult to remain indifferent. The speedometer makes everyone smile. Some will admire him with a smile, others will laugh at him. However, this is really impractical as it is far from the direction of the driver's gaze. Usability is enhanced by a smaller digital speed display located next to the steering wheel.

In terms of usability, there are a few impractical radio commands worth mentioning. They come in several sets, and often no one knows where to hand cut. It will probably end up in the blood over time. ... Sits perfectly, as the seats are strongly offset towards the rear of the car.

There is very little space on the back bench at that time, but it can be tolerated for short distances. The trunk is modest, but by knocking down the back bench, we quickly make it more voracious.

No need to waste words driving the Mini. It is now clear to everyone that in this class of cars this has become a concept for driving pleasure in corners. Gokart, they like to call him. And they are not far from the truth. Perfectly tuned suspension, extremely communicative steering, body rigidity. ... What if. ... Well, we are there again. This is not bad, we are slowly beginning to console ourselves.

However, like-minded people could easily remove something from the list of accessories in exchange for a more powerful version of the engine. And we believe that they will laugh more than those whose smile will bring heated seats or something like that. ... By the way, have you noticed that we used the word "smile" quite a few times in such a short test? Coincidence?
