Mercedes produces not only executive sedans, swift roadsters and elegant coupes. In the model line of the famous Stuttgart company, there was also a place for family cars with increased capacity - minivans, passenger vans and minibuses. This article on our autoportal Vodi.su is dedicated to them.

V-Class (W447)

W447 is one of the latest developments, which was first presented in Geneva in the spring of last 2014. The minivan was created specifically for comfortable travel with the whole family, its interior is designed for 8 people, accommodation options:

• 2 + 3 + 2;
• 2 + 3 + 3;
• 2 + 2 + 2.

The seating configuration allows for any placement option, and the rear seats can be removed to make room for the transport of oversized cargo.

The minivan is available in three versions:

• compact version with a body length of 4895 millimeters;
• long version - 5190 mm;
• Extra Long — 5370.

The first two modifications have a wheelbase length of 3,2 meters, while the extra long one has 3,4. The height of the minibus reaches 1880 millimeters, so that even very tall people can comfortably fit inside. The interior is very luxurious, all seats, including the middle ones, have seat belts and armrests.

All minivans of this class are equipped with 2,1-liter CDI and BlueTec diesel engines. Power 136, 163 and 190 horsepower. As a transmission, you can choose a 6-speed manual or a 7-band automatic 7G-Tronic Plus. The drive in all trim levels is rear.

To date, the new V-Class is available in Moscow showrooms at prices ranging from 2,5 million rubles for the short version and up to 3,9 million rubles for the Extra Long.

There is no doubt that the W447 is equipped with all the necessary security systems. The comfort and safety of passengers is one of the main slogans of Mercedes. The minibus came to replace earlier models, which we will discuss below on Vodi.su.

Viano (W639)

The previous model was created on the basis of the Viano minivan. In terms of their parameters, they are absolutely similar, Viano is also available in three versions: standard, extended and Extra Long versions. But in technical terms, the W639 is significantly distinguished by a wide variety of engine types.

Along with the 2,1-liter CDI diesels, more powerful options are also available:

• 3.0 CDI developing 224 horsepower;
• gasoline 3,5-liter power units, designed for 258 hp.

Rear and all wheel drive vehicles are also available. You can shift gears both with the help of a 7-speed automatic and a 6-band mechanics. The cabin can easily accommodate 8 people, including the driver. If desired, the rear seats are removed and a lot of space is freed up for the transport of various goods.

Prices in Moscow salons are quite high: from 1 to 830 million rubles for extended versions. However, by taking advantage of credit programs and purchasing such a car, you will receive a modern and comfortable camper for trips with the whole family.

Vito station wagon (W447 and W639)

Another minivan with increased capacity - 8 people. It was produced until 2010 (W639), and in 2014 the updated Vito Kombi W447 was presented at the Geneva Motor Show. In its appearance and dimensions, it is almost completely identical to the models described above. In profile, they look exactly the same.

Attract prices in this car - this is a more budget option. But at the same time, the characteristics are at a lower level. Diesel engines, working in conjunction with a manual or automatic 7G-Tronic Plus transmission, are capable of squeezing from 88 to 190 horsepower. Prices - from 1,5 to 2,5 million rubles. The drive is available both front and rear. All-wheel drive versions are not released.

Just like Viano, Vito Combi is produced in three variations: Compact, Long, Extra Long. In short, another fairly comfortable minivan for large companies and long trips. There are also cargo options, with a one-piece non-glazed body. It will be a good workhorse, with a carrying capacity of up to 750 kilograms. The cargo version costs from 1,3 million rubles.

B Class (W 246)

B-class are compact minivans, which can also be classified as hatchbacks. The most accurate name is compact MPV. This is also a relatively new restyled model, presented in all its glory at the Paris Motor Show 2014 in October.

The car is designed for 5 passengers, the level of safety, as always, is on top. There is a full set of front and side airbags, plus a host of auxiliary options: ABS, EBD, collision avoidance system (Collision Prevention Assist). Noteworthy is such an option as Keyless-Go, with which you can unlock and lock the car, as well as start the engine remotely with an electronic key.

The technical side is represented by diesel and gasoline engines with a capacity of 109 to 156 horsepower, there are configurations with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. Box - automatic or mechanical. There is a charged sports version of AMG.

Prices - from 1,4 to 1,8 million rubles. Admirers of Greenpeace and clean ecology can purchase the Electric-Drive package - it is not presented in showrooms, but is available on order directly from the factory in Stuttgart.

They cite (W 415)

The Mercedes Citan is a five-door minivan produced in collaboration with Renault. That is why it almost completely repeats the famous Renault Kangoo van. It was shown to the public at an exhibition in Hannover in 2013. In Moscow and Russia as a whole, it is available in passenger and cargo-passenger versions.

There is a standard base, as well as long and extra long: 3937, 4321, 4705 millimeters, respectively. In principle, the interior is almost the same as that of the Renault Kengo, except that the Germans used more expensive finishing materials. The extra long version can accommodate 7 passengers: 2+3+2. In a short one, 5 people will feel comfortable.

The engines are petrol and diesel with a capacity of 75, 90, 110 and 112 hp. Box - mechanical, drive - front. The price is 1,2-1,3 million rubles.

In 2013, another well-known car survived restyling - Mercedes Sprinter. Sprinter already belongs to minibuses and can accommodate up to 18 passengers. It costs 2-2,8 million rubles in salons.
