Mio MiVue 818. The first dash cam to locate your car

Mio MiVue 818. The first dash cam to locate your car Mio has just expanded its product range from the 800 series with the new Mio MiVue 818. In addition to the already known functions, Mio has introduced two completely innovative ones - "find my car" and route recording.

Mio MiVue 818. Two new features

Mio MiVue 818. The first dash cam to locate your carThere are two types of products in the car camera market. The first is cheap and simple car cameras. The second is video recorders that bring innovative solutions to the market. A product from the latter group is definitely the latest Mio MiVue 818, which has been equipped with two new features.

The first of them will certainly come in handy for all those who accidentally forgot where they parked their car. I'm talking about the "find my car" feature. All you have to do is turn on the MiVue™ Pro app on your smartphone and connect your phone via Bluetooth to the DVR.

When we have finished the route, our camera sends the coordinates of the place where we left the car to our smartphone. When returning to the car, the MiVue™ Pro application will determine our current location and, with an accuracy of several meters, will mark the path to the place where the car is located.

Another feature that is only available on the Mio MiVue 818 is the “journal”. This is especially useful for smaller companies that have multiple company vehicles and are looking for a way to check what an employee's vehicle is being used for. It will also be useful for those drivers who want to have collected information about the intensity of use of their car in one place.

All you have to do is pair your smartphone with the MiVue 818 via Bluetooth and the dedicated Mio App and then launch the function. Thanks to this, the DVR will remember the data about when, when and how many kilometers we drove. Using the MiVue™ Pro app, you can use the relevant tags to determine if it was a business or private trip. The application will also generate an easy-to-read pdf report that will clearly show the entrepreneur whether the machine was used for personal or business purposes.

Mio MiVue 818. For ease of travel

Mio MiVue 818. The first dash cam to locate your carIn addition to the above features, Mio MiVue 818 has solutions that will surely make driving easier. The first is to inform the driver that he is approaching a speed camera.

Another unique solution is the trip management system by measuring sectional speed. When passing through such a section, the driver will receive sound and light notification that the vehicle is in the measurement zone or is approaching it.

He will receive a similar notification if he moves too quickly through the checked section. The DVR will estimate the time and speed required to complete the route safely and without a ticket. He will also know how much distance is left to travel.

It is worth noting that the dash cam also has an intelligent parking mode that starts automatically when the engine is turned off. The recording itself is triggered when the sensor detects movement or impact near the front of the vehicle. Thanks to this, we will receive evidence even when we are not around.

The device is also compatible with the rear view camera Mio MiVue A50, which will record everything that happens behind the car while driving. Thanks to an additional power supply, Smartbox can be used not only in passive, but also in active parking mode. Built-in WIFI and Bluetooth make it easy to communicate between the camera and smartphone and update the software.

Mio MiVue 818. High image quality

When developing Mio MiVue 818, in addition to many unique features, the manufacturer made sure that the device in its group stands out for the quality of the recorded image.

The combination of glass lenses, a wide aperture of F:1,8, a true 140-degree field of view, and the ability to adjust the image resolution to suit your preferences will almost always produce high-quality recordings. If we want the recording quality to be twice as good as the Full HD quality often used in other recorders, it is worth using the 818K 2p resolution available in the Mio MiVue 1440. This resolution is often used in cinemas to guarantee high detail.

One of the tasks facing the DVR is to maintain a high level of recording at high speeds. It often happens that an accident occurs when overtaking. Usually the car that overtakes us is moving at high speed. For a DVR recording at less than 30 FPS, capturing the full picture of the situation is almost impossible. In order to record smoothly even in high quality and see all the details, Mio MiVue 818 records at a recording density of 60 frames per second.

This model uses Mio's unique Night Vision technology, which provides equally good recording quality even in adverse lighting conditions such as night, gray or uneven lighting.

The designers of Mio in this model managed to combine comfort with caution. Despite its compact size, the driving recorder has a large, easy-to-read 2,7-inch display. To make it as inconspicuous as possible, the kit includes a handle attached with 3M adhesive tape. For those users who use one DVR in many cars, the manufacturer has designed Mio MiVue 818 in such a way that it can be installed on the suction cup holder known from other Mio models.

The Mio MiVue 818 video recorder costs about PLN 649.
