Mio MiVue J85 - multifunctional car DVR

Mio MiVue J85 - multifunctional car DVR On Monday (29.10.2018/85/XNUMX Oct XNUMX), the Mio MiVue JXNUMX, a compact dash cam with a rich set of features, will debut on the market. Its camera is fully controlled by a smartphone app. Also, the registrar was equipped with a GPS module, Wi-Fi communication, a warning function for speed cameras and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The STARVIS technology used in it is to improve the quality of recording in total darkness. You can also connect an additional rear camera to the recorder. There was also a shock sensor and a parking mode.

Many car owners are concerned that a DVR permanently installed on the windshield of a vehicle will unnecessarily attract the attention of passers-by. There are also drivers who are distracted by the presence of a large traffic camera with a display and are reluctant to use such devices. Both of these problems are solved by the new recorder Mio MiVue J85. The recorder is small and light, and its body is designed so that the camera does not attract attention from the outside, and at the same time does not interfere with driving. Since the J85 does not have a display, the recorder can be installed in front of the rearview mirror and can be fully controlled via a smartphone.

The MiVue J85 recorder is equipped with a STARVIS matrix. This is a CMOS sensor designed for use in surveillance cameras. It is much more sensitive than conventional matrices. Thanks to this, even when driving at night, it is possible to record all the important details that make it possible to identify the participants in a traffic accident. The glass multi-lens lens with IR cut filter features a high brightness level of f/1,8 and a real field of view up to 150 degrees. The recorder records high-resolution 2,5K QHD 1600p (2848 x 1600 pixels) H.264 encoded image. This guarantees a very detailed and sharp image, allowing you to reproduce important information such as license plates, even if the car you are passing by is visible for a fraction of a second. The image quality of the MiVue J85 is also enhanced by the WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) function, which enhances the contrast and allows you to see important details even when the scene being recorded is too dark or too bright.

Additional camera

The MiVue J85 DVR can be supplemented with an additional rear view camera MiVue A30. This allows simultaneous recording from the front and rear cameras, thanks to which we get an even more accurate picture of the situation, and in the event of a collision, what happened behind the car will also be recorded. Since the operation of two cameras is associated with the recording of large amounts of data, MiVue J85 supports class 10 memory cards with a capacity of up to 128 GB.

Mio MiVue J85 - multifunctional car DVRParking mode

The MiVue J85 recorder is equipped with a three-axis shock sensor that detects every impact, overload or sudden braking. This prevents the video from being overwritten in the event of an accident on the road so that it can be used as evidence later. The shock sensor allows multi-stage sensitivity adjustment, which allows you to configure the recorder for driving in cars with different types of suspension and on roads with different surfaces.

The camera also takes care of the safety of the car in the parking lot. When you stop the car and turn off the engine, MiVue J85 will automatically enter the smart parking mode. As soon as it detects movement in front of the vehicle or an impact occurs, it immediately starts recording video. This makes it easier to trace the culprit in the cullet parking lot. The smart parking mode on the MiVue J85 activates the camera when it's really needed, so the dash cam isn't on all the time. However, for this mode to work correctly, you need to purchase an additional power adapter - MiVue SmartBox.

GPS and Speed Camera Warning

The device has a built-in GPS module, thanks to which important information is collected in each recording, such as speed, latitude and longitude, altitude and direction. All data collected by GPS and shock sensor can be visualized using the free MiVue Manager software. This tool shows not only the course of the path, but also the direction of the car and the overloads acting on it. The set of such information is fully synchronized with the recorded video material, and together it can be evidence that resolves a dispute about an event with an insurer or even in court.

Built-in GPS also means speeding alerts and radar alerts. MiVue J85 is equipped with a lifetime, monthly updated database of speed cameras with intelligent alerts when a vehicle approaches them.

Advanced driver assistance systems

MiVue J85 also takes care of driving safety with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), which minimize the chance of a collision as a result of a driver's momentary inattention. The camera is equipped with the following systems: FCWS (Forward Collision Warning System), LDWS (Lane Departure Warning System), FA (Fatigue Warning) and Stop&Go informing that the vehicle in front of us has started to move . The latter is useful when the car is in a traffic jam or in front of a traffic light, and the driver has focused his attention not on the car in front of him, but on something else.

Information for the driver of the vehicle is signaled by multi-colored LEDs, but more importantly, the camera can also give all warnings by voice so that the driver does not take his eyes off the road.

Communication via Wi-Fi

MiVue J85 can be controlled from a smartphone, with which the camera is connected via the built-in Wi-Fi module. The user can instantly back up recorded videos on their smartphone, view and manage recordings, and share movies or live broadcasts on Facebook. To do this, use the MiVue Pro application, available for Android and iOS. The Wi-Fi module also ensures that the camera software is constantly updated via OTA. There is no need to connect it to a computer or transfer files to a memory card.

In every place

In addition to the MiVue J85 recorder, there is a holder glued with 3M adhesive tape in the kit. This allows the camera to be installed in places where traditional suction cups would not stick, such as on tinted glass elements or on the cockpit.

The recommended retail price of the DVR is 629 zł.
