Many drivers are unaware of the fact that our wardrobe, especially shoes, can affect the safety of driving a car.

Meanwhile, this is a rather serious problem. “As many as fifteen percent of drivers seem to admit to a temporary loss of driving due to inappropriate footwear. I am convinced that this problem affects us women much more than male drivers. This is for the simple reason that we women always want to look fashionable and beautiful, including when driving and getting into a car in shoes that are not necessarily suitable for driving, says Maia Moska, an expert from the nationwide automotive network ProfiAuto.pl.

That is why every lady, regardless of whether she is going on a long journey or only goes to work in the city center, should wear flat shoes in her car. This will ensure that the soles do not get stuck in the grooves of the mat - as can happen with stilettos - or that they do not fall off while moving, as can happen with flip-flops.

- It may seem that the problem of driving shoes does not seem as relevant as in winter, but I would advise all ladies who go on a car trip to definitely forget about all kinds of slippers, flip flops or slippers. high heels, says the ProfiAuto expert.

She adds that she puts her high heels in the glove compartment and changes them after getting into the car, only putting them on when she arrives at her destination. This behavior is also quite practical, because dainty high heels simply wear out faster when used while driving.

Safe wardrobe

– I would like to add that shoes are not the only clothing that can make driving difficult for us. A large-brimmed hat can be such a "distraction" that can hide our visibility at the most unexpected moment. And finally, dresses. Personally, I like to drive in a long loose skirt, it fits easily and does not restrict movement, which can happen with many mini dresses, says Maya Mosca.

He adds that on sunny summer days, female drivers should also remember to protect their eyes. According to the expert, it is good that Polish women are increasingly willing to use good branded sunglasses. Lenses with an appropriate polarizing coating to prevent glare from the reflection of the sun in glass or a mirror, and with UV filters. At the same time, it is important to focus not only on a fashionable image, but also on the fact that glasses protect our eyes from the blinding rays of the sun. However, at night, so that we are not blinded by the lights of oncoming cars, we can use glasses with the so-called blue blocker, that is, a special filter that suppresses blue light.
