Mitsubishi Outlander 2.2 DI-D (115 kW)

The Outlander is large enough to comfortably carry five passengers with their luggage, while not bulky in terms of size.

It was possible to pass without maneuvers in our narrow garage, side parking is no nonsense, especially with the help of a camera on the tailgate and a seven-inch screen. Once you get used to it and stop running around looking between three mirrors and an LCD screen, it becomes practical.

Parking assistance camera belongs to serial equipmentif you opt for the Instyle package, you also get 18-inch aluminum wheels, an electrically adjustable driver's seat (the switches are very easily accessible thanks to the armrest), two-stage heated front seats (again, the switches are a bit inconveniently hidden), electric roof, window, leather on all seats (except the last two - more on that later) and a CD/DVD music player with its own 40GB drive that can automatically copy music to itself.

While listening to CDs, the music is burned to the disc, and later you can select the same music with just a few clicks. touch the touch screen... I don’t know how they deal with copyright issues (usually copying music content is not prohibited?), But everything works fine as long as the CDs are not too messed up. Then it just doesn't work.

To insert tiles, the screen moves gracefully and slowly (which is too slow), which is a "fancy" but not very useful trick. The Rockford Fosgate acoustics deserve a concert round of applause, which, with the help of a 710-watt amplifier, eight speakers and a "woofer" in the trunk (standard!), contributes to the crystal clear sound of high and low sounds. Tested with Umek's Astrodisco set to maximum intensity. Great job.

The touchscreen and steering wheel with radio control switches find just three rotary knobs in the center console for adjusting temperature, ventilation intensity and heating / cooling direction. When adjusting, the wind direction is also displayed on the screen, so there is no need to look away from the road.

Le the quality of these rotating cartridges is compromisedas they move like a slightly shaken tooth in a rougher operation, and at the same time they emit the sound of a cricket.

The rotary knobs are a simple classic that always works and doesn't make mistakes, while at the same time the dashboard is clean and free of frills. The feeling is very good because of this, and also because of the good, bright materials in the car, with the exception of the bottom of the doors, we find a harder plastic.

Since the bottom of the car is also light, children will have to put on slippers before entering, otherwise brown and black spots on the plastic are inevitable. There is enough storage space, just too much to drink. Has anyone ever loaded four coffee pots and two half liter bottles at the same time?

For silent remote unlocking and locking of doors, mirrors are used, which automatically fold to avoid accidents in parking lots.

And what drives this eight hundred tons of heavy mass? Four-cylinder turbodiesel with 156 horsepower and 380 Newton meters of torque. (at 2.000 rpm) and the transmission itself (either with fixed steering wheel lugs or by moving the lever forward and backward) selects between six gears.

Available (selected by a switch on the rather small gear lever) are normal and sport programs - in the latter, the engine spins about 500 rpm higher, up to 4.000, before upshifting.

Smooth start, Shifting is fast (slightly slower than VW's DSG gearboxes), but when you want to manually downshift when going downhill or before cornering, the robotic gearbox takes too long. I had the opportunity to test BMW and VW transmissions in one day, but Mitsubishi was the slowest to downshift.

Inadequate also the fact that the vehicles do not flow when we want to accelerate with cruise control from a speed of 60 km / h to the speed with which we were driving in front of the toll station. The gearbox remains in fourth and accelerates more slowly than it would at 1.500 rpm.

At a speed of 140 kilometers per hour, the engine spins at a speed of 2.500 rpm, and, according to the on-board computer, it consumes a little less than 10 liters per hundred kilometers. At this speed, you can already hear the noise behind the car - yes, this is an SUV, not a limousine.

However, the driving speed can be high, also 180 km / hwithout fear that the car will dangerously "float" at this time. The cruise control has clear commands and works well, we missed only the display of the selected speed with a number, the same applies only to the graphical display of current consumption. Despite the relatively large diesel engine, the interior starts to warm up after two to three kilometers on a winter morning.

Power is enough to keep the Outlander going faster than traffic. with seven passengers. Seven? Yes, a bench for two short passengers is simply pulled out from the bottom of the trunk. Eight of them can also be taken with you to the carnival, but you have not heard about it from us yet.

It is clear that there is almost no trunk for seven passengers. The trunk door is double for easy loading, the middle bench folds 40 to 60 by hand or by pressing a switch in the trunk.

How much does an SUV cost in the Outlander? Suffice it that with all-wheel drive engaged, you don't have to throw fresh snow early in the morning, or the Outlander will be too low in most cases. Too quickly heard the sound of a nearby chassis hitting frozen snow or ground to recommend it as a Jimny or Niva replacement.

Between the front seats is a rotary knob for electronically controlled all-wheel drive and differential lock.

And since the new Mitsubishi is also handsome with a large air gap on the front grille and stylishly aggressive headlights, we can call it for one of the best options in the class of urban SUVs... Exclusive enough for business partners and spacious enough for family, friends, skis and bike.
