Completely reworkedThe Japanese SUV chooses an understatement and hashabitability His best gift.

Front-wheel drive version ideal for holding consumption.

And travel like poop.

A victim of the Astenersi fashion.

TheAlien it is a crossover designed not to please the owner's ego, but to persuade him with very strong arguments.

The platform on which it is built is essentially new, although the design is not very different from that of the previous generation.

The design, conceived from the outset to accommodate both traditional mechanics and a plug-in hybrid drive system, however, appeared in 2014.

Not only that: at the top of the Instyle lineup, adaptive cruise control, collision avoidance and unintentional lane change prevention are now available (in the € 4.950 package).

While they were there, the Japanese used high-strength steels, which reduced the weight of the car by an average of about 100 kg in order to improve efficiency, comfort and handling.

Starting with the latter, the most successful aspect is undoubtedly under the hood: with its 150 hp. the 2.2 diesel is not impressive in its performance, but it is one of the best examples of smoothness and traction stability.

Even at third speed and at 900 rpm, just hit the accelerator that designed and built the 4-cylinder engine. Mitsubishi resumes without vibrations and uncertainties.

Moreover, even at high revs, he never raises his voice and responds brilliantly.

The result: you almost always travel with a little gasoline, which contributes to a reduction in consumption, which reached an excellent 14,7 km / l during the test.

However, you shouldn't expect the car to be adaptable to cornering: the Japanese prefer relaxed driving, and the responsive roll in the ground proves this.

The grip limits are more than good, but the slowness in direction changes and the limited feel the steering wheel conveys doesn't make you push.

In terms of steering, the calibration isn't the sportiest, but it turns out to be in tune with the qualities and spirit of a car that's more touring than dynamic.

Therefore, it is better to enjoy the excellent sound insulation of the engine and tires, thanks to which you will arrive at your destination refreshed even after a few kilometers.

Breaking the silence on board - at speeds above 120 km / h - only a few aerodynamic noises coming from the A-pillars and some suspension reactions: if in the pits that you have to deal with at speed, braking is small and they are prone to "bounce" at the most dry conditions. urban bumps sometimes cause poorly filtered footage.

Livability chapter: Unfortunately, the Intense version cannot be fitted with a third row of seats, so those who need seven seats should definitely choose the best Instyle with all-wheel drive.

In any case, the five seats are "real" even for adults, and there is plenty of room in all directions. Trunk? The capacity is excellent, it is a pity that even upon request, there are no devices for holding and organizing the load.
