Motorcycle navigation with infotainment system

Garmin introduces the new Garmin zūmo 590LM motorcycle navigation system. The navigator is equipped with a rugged, water- and fuel-resistant housing and a 5-inch sunlight-readable display adapted for use with gloves.

The Zūmo 590LM combines advanced navigation features with an infotainment system that gives you instant access to information while driving. The navigation also features an MP3 player compatible with iPhone® and iPod® devices, allowing you to control your media directly from the display.

The Zūmo 590LM gives you real-time access to traffic and weather information on your route through the Smartphone Link app, and allows you to make hands-free calls and voice prompts through a Bluetooth-enabled helmet. The Zūmo 590LM is compatible with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and the Garmin VIRB action camera. Navigation also features Garmin Real Directions™, Lane Assistant and Round Trip Planning.

The device can operate in a horizontal or vertical position, depending on the user's preference. The clear 5-inch display is adapted for use with gloves, making data entry as easy as shifting gears. The interface is adapted to the needs of the user - in addition to viewing the map, the screen also displays information about points of interest along the route and real-time traffic data.

Bluetooth connectivity

The Zūmo 590LM is equipped with infotainment features to keep you in the know on the road. Bluetooth wireless technology allows you to connect your navigation device to a compatible smartphone or headset, allowing you to safely answer phone calls and use voice prompts. At the level of the navigation screen, you can also select any POI, such as a hotel or restaurant, and connect to the selected place by phone, which is convenient during unscheduled stops or when looking for places to eat on the road. The Bluetooth interface also allows you to receive real-time weather and traffic information via Smartphone Link. The built-in MP3 player is compatible with iPhone® and iPod®, allowing you to manage the playlist of songs stored on your mobile device using the screen of the zūmo 590LM.

Advanced navigation features

The zūmo 590LM uses the latest Garmin navigation technology with a focus on driver-focused features. The search box makes it easy to find addresses and millions of POIs. Garmin Real Directions is a unique technology, available only on Garmin navigators, that makes it easier to navigate in space using not only hard-to-read street names while driving, but also distinctive landmarks such as traffic lights, road signs, etc. The lane is a feature that makes it easier to overcome difficult junctions and exits from the motorway - combined voice and visual prompts (animated graphics next to the map view) allow you to enter the right lane early enough to leave the intersection or exit the motorway in time.

Intersection Realistic is an almost photographic feature of the junctions on the navigation screen, including the surrounding area and signs. In addition, zūmo 590LM provides information about speed limits, current speed, and arrival time. The map screen also displays POI data along the route, making it easy to find the nearest store, gas station, or ATM.

The zūmo 590LM's round trip planning mode lets you create a route based on your personal preferences and discover unfamiliar roads. Simply enter a variable that your device should use to plan your trip, such as time, distance, or a specific location, and Zūmo will suggest a route. For riders who value riding pleasure more than quick arrivals, the zūmo 590LM has a Curvy Roads feature that allows you to navigate your way to your destination using multiple curves. On the other hand, the TracBack® option allows you to return to your starting point along the same route.

Service history log

Zūmo 590LM allows you to collect important data such as tire changes, tire pressure, chain cleaning, oil changes, new spark plugs, all in one place. The service log allows you to record the date, mileage and services performed. The navigation is also equipped with a digital fuel gauge, making it easy to estimate how many kilometers you can go without stopping for a gas station.

Robust case

The navigation case is resistant to fuel fumes, UV rays and harsh weather conditions (Waterproof rating: IPX7). The Zūmo 590LM is powered by a removable battery, in addition to the motorcycle mount, you will also find a mount and a car power cord.

Useful accessories

The Zūmo 590LM is compatible with the Optional Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Adding a TPMS sensor to each tire makes it easy to monitor pressure on the Zūmo display. The system can handle up to 4 tires in any configuration (separate purchase required for each wheel). The zūmo 590LM also works wirelessly with your Garmin VIRB™ action camera, so you can start and stop recording just by using the navigation screen.

Cards

With zūmo 590LM navigation, you get a free lifetime subscription to map updates. The Zūmo 590LM also offers support for TOPO and custom maps for downloading alternative routes (additional maps sold separately).
