The first part of the index, the letter "M" and the number 10 going through a hyphen indicate that the oil is motor oil, the viscosity at 100 ° C (average operating temperature) is in the range from 9,3 to 11,5 cSt. For comparison, this viscosity corresponds to class 30 on the SAE J300 marking. M10dm oil also corresponds to the same class.

When translated to the API standard, M10G2k engine oil corresponds to the CC class. If we consider foreign equipment, then this class is relevant for cars that left the assembly line before 1985. It is currently considered obsolete and is not used to refer to even the simplest foreign-made motor oils.

Depending on the manufacturer, this temperature ranges from -15 to -18°C.

Part of the designation "G2" is a group of engine oil. Specifies the recommended area of ​​use. According to the standard, M10G2k engine oil is recommended for use in uprated diesel engines with moderate turbocharging. Particular emphasis is placed on operating conditions: the oil resists the formation of sludge deposits in motors prone to this process. Sludge is deposited on the surfaces of internal combustion engine parts under conditions when the engine is running at high load and at low and medium speeds. This mode is typical for loaded heavy equipment, such as trucks, construction and mining machines.

The last letter "k" in the designation indicates that the oil is recommended for use in KamAZ vehicles and K-701 tractors. Also, the lubricant in question has proven itself well in GAZ and ZIL vehicles with diesel engines, Ikarus buses and MTZ tractors.

Oil M10G2k - mineral, produced from low-sulphur grades of oil. The additive package is standard for this class of products.

Calcium acts as a dispersant and helps to clean the motor from sludge deposits. The alkaline number, depending on the manufacturer, fluctuates around 6 mgKOH / g. Similar alkaline indicators have M-8dm and M-8G2k oils.

Zinc-phosphorus components (analogous to Western ZDDP additives) protect the crankshaft and camshaft journals, as well as cylinder walls from scuffing. The amount of these components in the oil is small, on average only 0,05 mg/g.

  2. Naftan M10G2k. Most often found in barrels of 205 liters and canisters with a volume of 4 liters. The average cost per liter, depending on the seller, is at the level of 120-140 rubles. Draft oil from a barrel will cost about 20 rubles cheaper.
  3. Gazpromneft M10G2k. Sold in canisters of 4, 10, 20 and 50 liters, as well as metal barrels with a volume of 205 liters. The cost per 1 liter, depending on the packaging and the seller's margin, ranges from 90 to 140 rubles. The cheapest, if we consider the cost per unit of production, will cost a barrel: for 205 liters you will have to pay an average of 20 thousand rubles.
  4. Rosneft M10G2k. The price among branded lubricants is slightly lower than the average: from 85 to 120 rubles. Sold in standard 205-liter barrels and canisters of various sizes.

Also on the market there are many offers of M10G2k oils, which are not produced under the manufacturer's brand, but are marked according to GOST. Usually, such products are somewhat cheaper, but there is no guarantee that the requirements for the composition of the base and additives will be met.
