We are going to the sea

For those who do not like to be stuck in traffic jams or look in vain for a good restaurant, we advise you to carefully plan your trip.

According to opinion polls, the Baltic Sea coast is traditionally the most popular holiday destination for Poles. It is unlikely that anyone is immune from the temptation to swim in salt water, sunbathe, take ritual evening walks, as well as taste the traditional flounder with chips or fried eel, the taste of which is nowhere else inferior to the sea.

 

The Polish coast of the Baltic Sea stretches from Swinoujscie in the west to Krynica Morska-Piaska in the east. The length of the coastline is 788 km. There are about 100 coastal towns along its entire length. Administratively, the coast is divided into two voivodships - West Pomeranian and Pomeranian. Almost all attractive tourist destinations are located on the northern side of the national road number 6, passing along the route Kolbaskowo-Szczecin-Koszalin-Słupsk-Reda-Gdynia-Gdańsk-Straszyn-Lengowo.

The most popular and most visited by tourists is the coastal section at the level of road No. 6, which closes Gdansk and its environs and Koszalin, with a branch of road No. 11 Koszalin - Kolobrzeg. We want to get to any seaside city, we have to cross most of the way along this highway that connects East and West Pomerania. Recall which main cities we can find on the specified route, divided into separate regions:

– Kashubian coast: Belogora, Chalupy, Dębki, Hel, Jastarnia, Jastršembia Góra, Jurata, Karvia, Karvenskie Bloty, Kuznica, Lyubyatovo and Kopalino, Vladislavovo.

– Slowinsk Coast: Leba, Orzechowo, Rovy, Sasino, Ustka 

– Central coast: Khlopy, Dombki, Dombkowice, Darlowo, Dzwizhino, Gonski, Grzybowo Yaroslavets, Kolobrzeg, Lazy, Melenko, Mielno, Sarbinovo, Syanozhenty, Ustron-Morskoye Unesce.

– Gdansk Bay and Puck Bay: Gdansk, Gdynia, Krynica Morska, Puck, Sopot, Svazhevo, Wejherowo.

By the way, they visit this area on the following sections: Kołobrzeg - Koszalin (Smiechów), Koszalin - Karlino (Varnino), Koszalin - Slavno, Lębork - Leba. Perhaps this restriction of activity is a consequence of the restrictive visa policy established in connection with our accession to the EU.

On our coast, you can not only spend a vacation, but also improve the respiratory system, regulate blood circulation, improve metabolism, overcome allergies or rheumatism. The sea also has excellent air, thanks to patches of resinous pine forests and plenty of iodine. With some climatic grace, one can spend a very attractive vacation on the Baltic coast and it is not at all necessary to look for impressions in the Mediterranean.

On Main Road 6 you can find plenty of places to eat, particularly fish braziers, but if you are planning on making extra trips during your stationary stay, we recommend places slightly off the main road because only in those places you You can eat really tasty and relatively inexpensive.

Here are a few places we recommend:

1. Sashino, 40 km from road No. 6. 8, “Eva invites” - dishes are prepared personally by the owner. In particular, it is worth recommending a free appetizer in the form of herring with oranges, which is brought from afar. Roast duck and cabbage rolls with exotic fillings in Chinese style are also very tasty. Prices – from PLN 40 to PLN XNUMX for a main course, huge portions.

2. Przejazdovo near Gdańsk, Golden Horseshoe, almost by road no. 7. Duck specialty with apples (portion approx. PLN 30, very large), pork knuckle (also approx. PLN 30), a wide selection of fish menu. . Dishes are cooked in a coal oven.

3. Strzebielino Morskie, “Dworek Paraszyno” - a large selection of soups, a signature dish - mushroom soup (prices 5-7 zł), main dishes - very tasty venison, prices up to 20 zł per serving.

4. Center in Debzhino near Kosciezhyna. You can compose the dishes yourself or rely on what the chef will prepare. We recommend crayfish soup (PLN 9), cranberry duck (PLN 27) and excellent ribs (PLN 19).
