Which gas stations have the best quality gas?

Premium gasoline contains additives and detergents that can improve the efficiency and reliability of your car engine. Chevron, Exxon and Shell sell top tier gasoline.

Gas stations in the United States and many other countries are required to supply consistent, clean gasoline to customers. This means that no matter where the tank is filled, the quality of the gas or its brand will not have a noticeable effect on the performance of the car. Some brands offer fuel with added cleaners and other additives. They may provide some benefits, but the fact remains that cheap gas that does not contain these additives is neither dangerous nor problematic.

As automotive technology has advanced in recent decades, automakers around the world have agreed that government requirements for fuel additives are inadequate because they have not changed to meet the performance requirements of today's vehicles. If a fuel company can prove that its gas contains additives and detergents that prevent residue from forming on the valves or in the combustion chamber, then it is entitled to call itself a "top tier" gasoline supplier. Top-tier fuels are designed to keep engines running efficiently and reliably. Automakers claim that these requirements make gasoline better for modern cars.

Advantages of top gas

While the detergents and cleaners found in top-tier fuels may have some additional benefits, there won't be a noticeable difference in performance due to steering. The major gas companies have simply committed themselves to selling fuel specially formulated for the needs of today's cars, but other rules require all fuel companies to meet certain standards that prevent them from selling low-quality gasoline.

While some gas stations offer slightly higher quality gasoline, any fuel from a legal gas station in the US will be fine for filling your tank. There are also no problems with mixing fuels from different manufacturers.
