The fate of Battery Day is at stake. Musk: We will have to reschedule because the attendance will be low. Maybe a webcast in June?

In Los Angeles, there is a ban on staying at home, and Elon Musk is thinking about Battery Day. He just suggested on Twitter that the event could be postponed and that who knows if it might not be a good idea to have a webcast (live broadcast) in June and a regular conference later this year.

Battery Day in person in the second half of 2020?

According to information obtained by Reuters, CATL is already capable of producing lithium iron phosphate cells (LiFePO4) below $60/kWh. It's expected to be less than $80 per kilowatt-hour at the battery level - including the case and all electronics. And that's all for Tesla, who is heating up the atmosphere ahead of Battery Day.

> New cheap Tesla batteries thanks to cooperation with CATL for the first time in China. Below $ 80 per kWh at the package level?

However, Elon Musk states that the conference should be postponedotherwise, the turnout will be very low. And he is considering splitting the event into two parts: a webcast (live streaming) in June and a face-to-face meeting a few months later.

Reaction? Some are in favor of the webcast, others want to wait for a normal conference. There are a lot of these last voices, as if personally participating in the Tesla event gave people additional inspiration (which is logical). The discussion is taking place right now on Twitter, so anyone can vote for one of the options HERE.

Editorial note www.elektrowoz.pl: we are glad that we have lived to see the time when the conference of the car manufacturer, that is, combining the beauty of engineering with the beauty of new technologies, evokes such emotions 🙂
