On the way up: 2022 Skoda Scala, Octavia, Superb, Kamiq and Kodiaq prices increase, but standard specification stays the same

Prices for the Kamiq small SUV have risen to $2300.

Skoda has raised the suggested retail price of some of its key models, including the Scala, Octavia and Superb passenger cars, as well as the Kamiq and Kodiaq SUVs.

In fact, the only models in the Skoda lineup that have avoided a price increase for the 2022 model year are the Karoq midsize SUV and the Fabia light hatchback because they are both in service.

The new generation Fabia will hit showrooms in the second quarter, while the facelifted Karoq will hit Australian shores in March. Pricing for these models is expected shortly before launch.

A Skoda spokesman said there were no changes to the standard specification as part of the price change for the 2022 model. They added that the company has absorbed price increases throughout 2021, but inflation and production cost pressures have forced the latest changes.

All four classes in the Scala line of small hatchbacks are up $1800 a piece, with the range now starting at $31,990 excluding travel costs for the basic Ambition guide and peaking at $35,990 for the Monte Carlo automatic.

That price is not far from the mechanically related Volkswagen Golf, which starts at $32,790.

All Scala variants are powered by a 110 kW/250 Nm four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine driving the front wheels. It is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, but the Ambition is also available with a six-speed manual.

Octavia prices have gone up $2000-$2300, depending on the variant. The Ambition sedan and wagon went up $2200, while flagship RS models jumped $2000, so the range now ranges from $33,890 for the Ambition sedan to $51,590 for the RS wagon.

Choosing a station wagon adds $1300 to the price of the Octavia sedan.

The Octavia offers three front-wheel drive options, including a four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 110kW/250Nm for the Ambition and Style models, 140kW/320Nm for the Limited Edition and 180kW/370Nm for the RS.

All Superb variants are up $1800 each, with prices ranging from $52,290 for the Style sedan to $65,290 for the Sportline wagon.

The small Kamiq SUV jumped $2300 for the Ambition, which now starts at $34,690 for the manual, while the Signature is up $2200 and the Monte Carlo jumps $2300 to $37,590 to $XNUMX.

All Kamiqs come standard with a 110kW/250Nm four-piston engine.

Finally, Kodiaq prices have gone up $950-$1250, starting at $49,790 for the Style, $54,390 for the Sportline, and going up to $68,390 for the fast RS variant.

The Style and Sportline are powered by a 132kW/320Nm four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, while the RS uses a 180kW/380Nm turbocharged petrol unit that replaced the 176kW/500Nm turbodiesel of pre-facelift models. All Kodiaqs are all wheel drive.

While the price increase is tied to suggested retail prices, Skoda Australia says the exit price increase is capped at $1000 for the Kamiq and Octavia and $1000-$2000 for the Superb.
