This year at CES di Las Vegas 2020 Audi is betting on artificial intelligence and virtual reality. The main character of the House of the Four Rings stand at the exhibition in the USA will be concept car AI: ME, an electric self-driving car that the German brand itself called the car of the future. Empathy, because thanks to the system AI (Artificial Intelligence) will be able to recognize the habits and tastes of the driver, recognize his mood and therefore offer an on-board experience that is as compatible and personalized as possible with the driver and passengers.

The virtual assistant driving the Audi of the future will be able to remember the habits of the driver and passengers and transform the car into a kind of wellness salon. For this reason, the Audi brain will analyze in detail the functions and settings preferred by the user, from the seating position to the massage function, from multimedia devices to route navigation, from interior lighting to humidity, temperature or interior odor.

But Audi's new technology goes even further. With eye recognition based on the infrared camera system, it is also possible to control some of the infotainment system's functions. Example: to order dinner on the way home, you just need to move your eyes, and the delivery time is automatically set based on the calculation of the route and traffic conditions. In addition, two VR headsets for virtual reality can reproduce a relaxing mountain landscape, offering an immersive experience.
3D mixed reality head-up display.
And finally, a 3D mixed reality head-up display will be able to combine real objects and virtual images. This is a technology developed by the Korean giant Samsung that works like a 3D TV. The system receives two simultaneous images for each image. The pixels on the screen are divided into pairs: one pixel is for the left eye, and the second is for the right eye. 3D Head-up technology detects gaze by tracking gaze and orients pixels accordingly so they can accurately reach the correct eye. The images displayed on the Audi head-up display in 3D mixed reality appear to be floating in front of the driver at a distance of 8/10 meters. When using a specific display, this virtual distance can exceed XNUMX meters. Eyes focused on distance vision should not change focus. Added value on the security front.
