Vehicle reliability 2-3 years according to TÜV

Vehicle reliability 2-3 years according to TÜVIn Germany, cars of categories M1 and N1 (except for driving schools, taxis sa) for the first time undergo a mandatory technical inspection after only 3 years (in our country - after 4). It is expected that a car of this age will not cause frequent defects. Firstly, due to young age, lower mileage, and also due to most of the observance of regular service inspections or even due to proper use and care in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

In terms of success, German-Japanese cars clearly dominate. It is also interesting to note that for the first time in the forty-year history of TÜV Report, a hybrid car won. The overall objectivity of the reliability comparison also increases with the number of kilometers driven. As an example, I will mention the 67th place in the VW Passat with a defect quota of 5,3%, but have driven up to 88 km. By comparison, the 000th-place Honda Jazz has just 13% faults but has traveled less than half (nearly a third) of the kilometers, as has the seventh Ford Fusion with 3,3% faults. Thus, this is not only a simple ranking of seemingly non-speaking percentages, but also a very important aspect - mileage. It follows that even a seemingly average position somewhere in the middle of the ranking, but with a proper share of mileage, can mean a decent result in the final score. In the first 2,7 places, the mileage value is in the range of 20-30 thousand km.

Every year the German technical inspections carried out by the TÜV in selected states are a valuable source of information on the quality of the rolling stock running on German roads. This year's ranking is based on data collected over 12 months from July 2009 to June 2010. Statistics include only those models for which a sufficient number of checks (more than 10) have been carried out and which, therefore, can be compared with others (statistical significance) and comparability of data).

A total of 7 inspections were included in the study. The result of each of them is a protocol containing minor, serious and dangerous defects. Their meaning is similar to the Slovak STK. A car with a minor defect (that is, one that does not threaten traffic safety) receives a mark confirming its suitability for use, a car with a serious defect will receive a mark only after the defect has been eliminated and if you have a car. which a technician detects a dangerous malfunction, you will not leave on your own axis.
