Vehicle reliability 6-7 years according to TÜV

Many of us don't even consider 7-8 year old cars old and rely on their reliable services every day. Therefore, let's see how they show themselves in terms of the number of detected defects.

Even in the case of a car category between 6 and 7 years old, TÜV SÜD had to announce an increase in the quota for serious refusals from 14,7% last year to 16,7% this year. With minor defects in this category, 27,4% of cars arrived for inspection, 55,9% of cars were free of defects.

The top ten car ratings 6-7 years ago can be described as a winning duel between Porsche and representatives of Asian brands. The first position in this category is traditionally taken by the Porsche 911 of the 996 model series (production from 1997 to 2005), and the second place is taken by the rear of the Porsche Boxster 986 model (production (from 1996 to 2004).

A couple of German cars are followed by a tour of Japanese production. In an interesting contrast to the Porsche cars, the small Honda Jazz came in third, tied with the Subaru Forester.

From the fifth to the ninth place follows the show of representatives of Toyota and Mazda. Tenth position is a great result for a small and cheap Hyundai Getz. With an average of 9,9%, it almost overtook the luxurious Audi A8, which is in eleventh place with 10,0%.

Representatives of the Škoda brand in the category of 6-7 years old cars did not exceed 16,7% on average and are only in the second half of the assessment. Fabia took 17,4th place with 53%, and Octavia took 18,5th place with 60%.

Traditionally, the largest Korean MPV Kia Carnival (96%) closes the rating, taking 35,5th place, followed by a pair of Seat Alhambra (30,0%) and VW Sharan (29,9%).

The most common malfunctions in cars 6-7 years old are lighting equipment (21,2%), front and rear axles (7,1%), exhaust system (4,2%), steering play (2,5%), brake lines and hoses (1,9%). , Foot brake efficiency (1,6%) and bearing corrosion (0,2%).
