Vehicle reliability from 10 to 11 years according to TÜV

Vehicle reliability from 10 to 11 years according to TÜVFor the statistically oldest, eleven-year-old cars, the share of significant defects increased to 26%. Last year it was 24,1%.

Among 911-year-old cars, the Porsche 8,7 leads the way with just 4% of scrap, which puts it in a better position than any new car. This is followed by the Toyota RAV 10,5 (11,2% failure rate) and the Porsche Boxster (8% failure rate). As in the category of cars 9-4 years old, Japanese Toyota is the most successful brand. Taking into account the RAV10 model, which is in second place, there are only four representatives in the top ten. The small Yaris hatchback finished in fifth place. The Corolla, representing the lower middle class, is in sixth place, while the Avensis is seventh. However, it should be added that they are definitely not among the mileage champions. Of the German cars, besides the two Porsches, the Mercedes SLK managed to enter the top ten in sixth position, while the Volkswagen Polo in tenth position. The TOP5 also includes the Mazda MX-8 and Premacy, which finished in 9th and XNUMXth places.

The record holders for mileage are the Volvo S70 and V70, which after 10-11 years of operation pass an average of 201 km. Next come the VW Passat and MB E-Class with 173 km. In our country, Škoda is still very popular in this category. The first of these is the Octavia, which ranked 28, slightly above this year's average. The second car from Mladá Boleslav is Felícia. However, this model, which is still very common in our region, ended up in third place with 35,7% only from the bottom. Only two Fords performed worse than Felicia. Mondeo took the 69th place, and the 70th place belongs to the little Ka.

The most frequent failures in cars 10-11 years old are lighting equipment (30,3%), front and rear axles (13,3%), exhaust system (8,2%), brake lines and various hoses (7,4%), foot brake. Efficiency (4,0%), body corrosion under load (3,7%) and steering play (3,5%).
