The XC60 mid-size SUV is one of several Volvo models being recalled yet again.

Volvo Australia has recalled 9,205 vehicles due to a potential problem with their Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) system.

For XC19, XC20, and XC40 SUVs and S60, V90, S60, and V60 MY90-MY90 vehicles, the recall concerns the AEB system, which may not automatically brake after detecting an imminent collision with certain objects, pedestrians, and cyclists.

However, the AEB system will still provide the driver with audible and visual collision warnings as usual, as well as support braking.

Speaking of which, the brakes themselves still work, which means the vehicle can be safely driven.

However, if the AEB system is potentially not working properly, there is an increased risk of an accident and therefore injury to occupants and other road users.

However, Volvo Australia reported Cars Guide there were no reports of local incidents related to the recall.

The company is contacting affected owners with instructions to register their vehicles with their preferred authorized service center for a free software update that fixes the potential problem.

It should be noted that some of the recalled vehicles are still on their way to Australia or in the dealer network. So they will be updated before delivery to buyers.

Those who would like more information about the recall can contact Volvo Australia on 1300 787 802.
