NASA announces ambitious plans for space exploration

Man will again be on the Moon, and in the near future on Mars. Such bold assumptions are contained in NASA's space exploration plan, which has just been presented to the US Congress.

This document is a response to Space Policy Directive-1, a "space policy directive" that President Trump signed into law in December 2017. The Trump administration's efforts to develop space programs are designed to break the period of inactivity that has been going on since 1972. It was then that the Apollo 17 mission was carried out, which became the last manned expedition to the moon.

NASA's new plan is to develop the private sector so that companies like SpaceX take over all commercial operations in low Earth orbit. At this time, NASA will focus its efforts on lunar missions and, in the future, will pave the way for the first manned mission to Mars.

As promised, American astronauts will return to the surface of the Silver Globe before 2030. This time, it will not only end with sampling and a little walk - the upcoming missions will be used to prepare the infrastructure for the permanent presence of a person on the moon. .

Such a base will be an excellent place for in-depth study of the Moon, but most of all it will allow preparing interplanetary flights, including missions to the Red Planet. Work on it will begin after 2030 and will culminate in the landing of a man on Mars.

Even if it is not possible to complete all the tasks presented in the document in time, there is no doubt that the coming years will bring significant development to our knowledge of space and may turn out to be a breakthrough for our civilization.
