In addition, you need to pay attention to the charge indicator lamp: it should go out immediately after starting the engine. If the lamp does not go out and the battery is discharged, then there may be several reasons:
- malfunction of the relay-regulator;
- wear or sticking of the brushes in the brush holder;
- failure of one of the diodes in the generator.
On the VAZ 2107, the battery charge circuit is designed in such a way that the charging indicator lamp is in the generator excitation circuit. When, when starting the engine, the voltage that the generator produces exceeds the voltage on the battery by 0,1 V, the lamp goes out.
