Not so cheap Jeep! Prices for all variants of the 2022 Jeep Compass, Cherokee, Wrangler and Gladiator are up by the thousands, but no features have been added as industry calls continue.

The Wrangler went up over $6000 per variant.

Jeep continued its ascent into premium territory by raising prices across all of its existing lineups.

The price of the sticker has gone up between $1000 and $7000 depending on model and class, with the biggest increase coming from the rugged Wrangler SUV.

The American SUV specialist last month released local details about its upcoming next-generation Grand Cherokee lineup, which has seen a dramatic price increase over the model it replaces. While Jeep has only revealed pricing for the new seven-seat version, there is no such option in the outgoing lineup.

This month's price hike for the Compass small SUV, Cherokee midsize SUV, Wrangler SUV and Gladiator pickup was driven by difficulty finding parts and general supply chain delays affecting most manufacturers.

That's on top of the price hikes Jeep made for each of these models last year, including three separate price hikes for the Cherokee and Wrangler.

Aside from the variant change in the Compass lineup, there are no other updates or additions to the specifications for any of the 2022 Jeeps.

Compass prices increased by $1000 per variant and the lineup changed slightly. The Launch Edition has been replaced by the Night Eagle, which serves as a new entry point for the Kia Seltos and Mazda CX-30 competitors.

The Compass now costs $39,950 before Night Eagle travel costs, $2000 more than the discontinued Launch Edition. However, the Night Eagle has variants with specific styling and some extra features.

Looking at the starting price of all other small SUV models from competing major brands, the Compass is the most expensive. Others coming close include Citroen C4 ($37,990), Peugeot 2008 ($36,740) and Volkswagen T-Roc (starting at $35,500).

If the Compass started at just $50 more ($40,000), it would move into the premium small SUV segment under the Federal Chamber of the Automotive Industry (FCAI) vehicle classification, along with the Audi Q3, BMW 1, and more.

The Jeep Compass is creeping into premium territory with its premium price tag.

Prices for the aging Cherokee have gone up $3300 for the Limited version, which is now $54,050, and $3500 apiece for the S-Limited and Trailhawk, which are now $56,950.

Like the Compass, the midsize Cherokee now has the highest starting price of any car in its category, which includes cars like the Volkswagen Tiguan, Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4 and more.

Wrangler prices have really skyrocketed, with the two-door Rubicon up $6600 to $72,550.

Four-door options now start at $69,750 for the Night Eagle - a $6800 jump before moving up to the more expensive $6900 Overland for $74,850 and the Rubicon for $78,450, up $7000.

Finally, the double-cab Gladiator Night Eagle pickup now costs $70,550 (+$2100), while the Rubicon will set you back $79,250 (+$2300).
