It is advantageous to protect door locks with a special preservative, and de-icers can be used as a last resort. In winter, do not forget to lubricate and fasten the lock in the gas tank cap if it is outdoors and exposed to rain and moisture.

When starting the engine at low temperatures, which are abundant in the Polish winter, it is important that the liquid oil reaches all friction points in the engine as quickly as possible. Moreover, using good low viscosity oils of 5W/30, 5W/40, 10W/40 classes, we can get an additional effect in the form of a 2,7% reduction in fuel consumption compared to running the engine at 20W/30. butter.
It is extremely important to monitor the condition of the fuel system, both in cars with engines with spark ignition and diesel engines. Water accumulating in the tank and getting into the fuel causes the formation of ice plugs at low temperatures, which clog the fuel lines and filters. Then even the best engine with a working starter will not start. For preventive purposes, special water-binding fuel additives can be used. IN 
In diesel engines at temperatures below minus 15 degrees C, winter diesel fuel should be refueled. Special preparations that prevent paraffin crystals from falling out, added to summer oils, are not always effective.
A very important measure to be carried out in the workshop is to check the freezing resistance of the liquid in the cooling system. Regardless of whether the cooler contains a solution prepared by diluting the concentrate with water or pouring liquid with a working concentration, it ages during operation. As a rule, in the third year of operation it should be replaced with a new one, if water has been added to the liquid, its suitability should be checked before the first winter. Coolant that is excessively diluted with water can be replaced after the first year of operation. It is impossible to save on coolant, as when it freezes, it can seriously damage the engine.

The next step is to check the condition of the wiper blades. If they smear dirt on the glass or leave streaks uncleaned, they need to be replaced with new ones. It is good to check the completeness of the bulbs and the functioning of the outdoor lighting, if necessary, adjust the headlights.
Before starting winter use, it is recommended to put a warm blanket in the trunk. It will help maintain body temperature during a heating failure or when we are waiting for snow to be cleared from the road in front of a snowdrift.
