Neffos C5 Max - everything to the maximum

In the October issue of our magazine, I tested the TP-Link Neffos C5 phone, which I really liked. Today I present to you his older brother - Neffos C5 Max.

At first glance, you can see a few differences: a larger screen - 5,5 inches - or an LED next to the camera lens, slightly protruding from the body, this time on the left, not on the right, as in the case of its predecessor. , and permanently built-in battery, not replaceable, but with 3045mAh large capacity battery.

But let's start with the display. The Full HD resolution is 1080×1920 pixels, which means that the number of pixels per inch is approximately 403 ppi, which is a high value. The screen works well even in direct sunlight, and thanks to the presence of a light sensor, this happens automatically. Viewing angles are large, as much as 178 degrees, and the colors themselves look very natural. The glass on the display - Corning Gorilla - is ultra-thin, but very durable, ensuring a long life of the smartphone. The dimensions of the device are 152 × 76 × 8,95 mm, and the weight is 161 g. There are two color options to choose from - gray and white. The buttons work smoothly, the speaker sounds pretty good.

The Neffos C5 Max has a MediaTek MT64 octa-core 6753-bit processor and 2GB of RAM, which means it runs smoothly, but has to handle 4G LTE internet. We have 16GB for our files, expandable with a microSD card with a maximum capacity of 32GB. Of course, there were also backup Dual SIM cards - both cards (only microSIM) remain active when not in use (I don’t know why the manufacturer did not think about nanoSIM cards, which are so relevant today). When we are talking on the first card, the person who tries to reach us on the second card will most likely receive a message from the network that the subscriber is temporarily unavailable.

The smartphone is equipped with two cameras. The base one has a resolution of 13 MP, built-in autofocus, dual LED and a wide aperture of F2.0. With it, we can take great photos even in low light. The camera automatically adjusts contrast, colors and lighting for a specific scene - you can choose from eight settings, incl. Landscape, night or food. In addition, we have a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with a wide-angle lens - perfect for our favorite selfies.

Neffos C5 Max has a Bluetooth 4.0 module, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, LTE Cat. 4 and GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS and connectors - 3,5 mm headphones and micro-USB. It's a pity that the tested device is based on the slightly outdated Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, but we get a nice overlay from the manufacturer. This allows you to personalize your phone - incl. choice of theme from the manufacturer or icons and system management. The device runs very smoothly, although I got the impression that it is a little slower than its younger brother, but we have a larger screen. A nice option is the Turbo Download feature, which allows you to speed up file transfers (connects LTE to your home network).

Summing up, we can say that the Neffos C5 Max is a very good smartphone that can confidently compete with flagship models from other companies. For about PLN 700 we get a really decent device with a large quality display, a smooth system and a good camera that takes very beautiful photos with perfect colors. I recommend it because you won't find anything better for this price.
