Germans want to produce LADA 4 × 4

Last year, Russian manufacturer AvtoVAZ announced that it was suspending sales of its vehicles in Europe. The last cars were delivered to dealers in Germany in March, but it turns out that interest in one of the models, the LADA 4×4 (also known as the Niva), is quite serious, and therefore the local company wants to start production.

The founder of the project, named "Partisan Motors", is Russian Yuri Postnikov. He organized a group of designers and engineers from the German city of Magdeburg who have already done the necessary research and are fully aware of how to organize the workflow.

Currently, two options for a possible revival of the model are being discussed. The first will use sets of equipment and ready-made components that will be brought from Russia and assembled in Germany. The second will rely on suppliers from Europe, and in both cases a large Russian car assembly plant will operate in Magdeburg. This will provide at least 4000 new jobs.

However, in both cases, AvtoVAZ must approve the project, which currently provides for the production of only the LADA 4X4 version with 3 doors. If everything works out, other modifications of the Niva may appear at a later stage.
