The necessary warming up of the VAZ 2107 engine

Do you need to warm up your car engine at all? If earlier any driver knew perfectly well that it was simply necessary to warm up the engine before each trip, now many owners believe that this procedure is completely useless and unnecessary. But the actions of such “woe” drivers are not justified by anything, but only by the rumors of various smart people who have been driving for a week!

Of course, in order to extend the maximum life of the VAZ 2107 engine, it is simply necessary to warm it up, this rule is especially important in the cold season. There are several reasons for warming up:

1. First, when starting a cold engine, the oil in the crankcase is thick and does not have the necessary lubricating properties. And this primarily affects the wear of the piston group and the crankshaft. If you constantly operate the car without preliminary warming up, then the engine will significantly reduce its resource in a short period of time.
2. The gearbox also needs to be warmed up. I think everyone is familiar with such a problem, when when the clutch pedal is released on a cold engine, idle speed drops sharply, since the load from the gearbox input shaft is transferred to the engine. This has an extremely negative effect on the resource of the power unit, so before releasing the clutch pedal, let the engine run for at least a minute without load.
3. Cold engine power is much lower. There can be no doubts here, and for sure every car owner of a VAZ 2107, especially with a carburetor engine, knows very well that it works unstable on a cold engine and does not give out full power.

Even if you use synthetic oils in the internal combustion engine and gearbox, this does not mean that you do not need to warm up the engine. Whichever expensive oil you use, its operating range for minimal wear will be only at positive temperatures.

Since most VAZ 2107 cars have a coolant temperature sensor, which starts to show from 50 degrees, it is better to wait until the arrow deviates from its lower mark, which will signal sufficient warming up to start driving.
