Nissan Almera 1.8 16 V Comfort Plus

So many different drivers have changed the steering wheel behind her wheel and expressed their opinion about the car. This contributed to a very broad understanding and appreciation of the supertest, which is certainly a good thing. Slightly less good, however, is that poor Almeri showed signs of frequent changes in current users. A slipped rear right fender, cracked plastic at the bottom of the bumper, and a missing mirror cover were just the most visible witnesses to constant use.

Well, now Almera is out of the box again, ready for the last half of our party. When we finally found a few days off, Almera made the pilgrimage to Krulec, an authorized service technician in Moravce who deserves all praise for his work. The damage caused by our negligence was repaired by the craftsmen so thoroughly that it would be easy to fool many people into having a new test vehicle.

Without exaggeration, Almera glowed inside and out, as if she had just left a car dealership. We can say that he experienced a slight revival. There are no scratches, the front bumper is new, as is the left rearview mirror cover. Even in the rain, driving has become more pleasant, since all three wiper blades have been replaced. They've also replaced the light to illuminate the buttons and switches for the heating and fan, which means you no longer need to feel where the real switch is in the dark. The problem with "uneven headlights", as our testers called unusual road lighting, was also fixed very quickly.

Let's reveal a secret: when we last changed the front lamp, the "master" turned it wrong and it, of course, shone more into the ground. Well, it even happens to the best, doesn't it? !!

This time, the inaccurate operation of the fuel level gauge in the fuel tank should be permanently eliminated. If you remember, until now we have always written that, despite the full capacity, the meter still shows as if there were at least ten liters of space left. At the moment, it shows the level as it should be, and it seems that no serious intervention was required, but a thorough cleaning of the float or filter in the mechanism was enough. Otherwise, there were never any serious problems with Almera. The engine deserves praise for its reliable performance and fairly moderate mileage, which has increased slightly in winter due to heavy city driving, but is still within factory specifications.

Again criticized the gearbox, where the gear lever gets stuck in some places during fast gear changes. We also don't like the harsh grip on the brakes. The brake pedal is too sensitive, which means that it is difficult to evenly dose the braking force throughout the entire pedal movement. It is a force to be reckoned with on the wet road. Something similar applies to the accelerator pedal, as it responds to the slightest touch.

Otherwise, we have nothing to blame for Almeri, we can only hope that she will be a little more fortunate in the second half of our trip together and that these injuries were the last. Once again, it has already been confirmed that this is an excellent vehicle on any, even the most difficult or unusual route.

This year alone, she visited many interesting cities and countries. These are just a few of them: Monaco, Hanover, Ingolstadt, Cannes, Aachen, Lille, Brescia and even London. If we think a little and ask ourselves when one person can visit so many different places, we, of course, will not say six months in advance. Maybe in two, three years, or never.

evaluation

  • After 66.000 miles, she has experienced many different drivers and different driving modes, city traffic, tight parking lots, snow and ice that enveloped her on cold winter nights, long trips to warm places on the Cote d'Azur and even a trip to London. Nowhere and never did she fail. The engine runs smoothly and is not voracious on a moderately “heavy” leg. There are practically no errors in the test, but it will be interesting to see if the fuel gauge will actually work after the repair. Its inaccuracy is by far the only major complaint we have with this rugged car.
