Nissan Almera 2.2 DiTD Comfort Plus
Factory data suggests that the most powerful petrol version with a promised top speed of 185 km / h is just as fast, but the road feel in the diesel Almera tells a different story.
In truth, the 2-litre diesel is also the most spacious unit in the Almera, aided by a turbocharger. The end result is a maximum output of 2 kW or 81 horsepower with a maximum torque of 110 Nm available at 2000 rpm. The figure is 230 Nm higher than the 1-liter petrol engine. Therefore, it is not surprising that the turbodiesel is much more agile and flexible than both gasoline engines.
Of course, the diesel engine uses a fashionable accessory, namely direct fuel injection, which is not as advanced (distribution pump) as anywhere else on the competition (common line, unit injector). In practice, the car turns out to be very loud: in the cold it wakes up with a very loud diesel hum (there is almost no sound insulation in the car), which, even when heated, does not drop to such a low level as one would desire.
Fuel consumption is a very burning issue, but it still depends a lot on the driver and the weight of his right leg. So, in a test carried out in dynamics and in the city, it averaged 8 l / 9 km, but at best it also dropped to quite decent 100 liters of oil per 5 km.
In all other respects, the Almera 2.2 DiTD retains all the features of Almer: good position and handling, powerful brakes (but still without the addition of ABS), average ergonomics inside, cheap plastic on the dashboard, poor sound insulation (engine noise) and the like. Due to the increase in weight (by about 100 kg) compared to the most powerful gasoline engine, the diesel also gained comfort, which makes swallowing irregularities, at least small ones, more bearable.
And finally, when we see exactly where the Almera 2.2 DiTD sits on the price list with a number in front of the SIT label, we find that the 3 million tolar car ranks very high on Nissan's scale. Definitely overpriced in our opinion, so we advise you, if you are not emotionally attached to the brand, take a look at the competitors, which, among other things, will offer you more choice between models and equipment levels.

Nissan has managed to make a fully usable car with an Almera 2.2 DiTD that convinces with its flexible engine, but its (overpriced) price tag raises a lot of doubts about its worth.
