Nissan Leaf and frost - what to remember?
Nissan Leaf batteries have a built-in mechanism to ensure that their temperature does not drop below a certain level. However, when the frost starts, Leaf's battery (and any other electric car's) needs special attention. What is going on?

The Nissan Leaf battery has a built-in heater (figuratively speaking), which makes the batteries warm even at low temperatures. Of course, the battery heating system draws its power from the batteries themselves - which is why low temperatures cause the charge to drop even when the Leaf is not used.

Leaf battery and frosts
When frosts begin (fall), it is worth remembering to leave the car charged to at least 20 percent. Low temperatures reduce the efficiency of the battery - so if we calculated the distance "on contact", the frozen batteries may fail us a few kilometers before the target.
When the temperatures are low, it is also not allowed to leave the car for more than 14 days with the battery charged to a few percent. This can lead to the car being immobilized.
Leafa and frost batteries
Battery and frost. When temperatures drop to minus 17 degrees, the car turns on a heater to heat the batteries. The heater is turned off when the temperature rises to at least -10 degrees or the battery charge drops below 30 percent.

Therefore, on very frosty nights, you should take care of at least 40 percent charge, and preferably - connect the car to charging overnight.
