Nissan introduced the new X-Trail

Nissan has officially unveiled the fourth generation of its X-Trail, known in North America as Roque. It was the American crossover that first entered the market. Options for other countries will be shown later.

The crossover is the debut model of the brand, built on a new platform on which the next Mitsubishi Outlander will be based. The length of the car has been reduced by 38mm (4562mm) and the height by 5mm (1695mm), but Nissan says the cabin is still as spacious as ever.

The new Roque / X-Trail gets two-level optics and an enlarged grille with chrome elements. The rear doors open almost 90 degrees, and the width of the luggage compartment reaches 1158 mm.

The interior, in which the seats, the front panel and the inside of the doors are sheathed in leather, became significantly richer. Both front and rear seats are made using the new Zero Gravity technology, developed in collaboration with NASA experts.

The crossover is equipped with adaptive cruise control, a 12,3-inch digital dashboard, a three-zone air conditioning, a 10,8-inch projection screen, an infotainment system with a 9-inch display and online services. There is also a special function Vehicle Motion Control, which anticipates the actions of the driver and can adjust the control in emergency situations.

The model receives 10 airbags and all Nissan Safety Shield 360 technologies, including an emergency stop system with pedestrian recognition, as well as a function for tracking blind spots, assistance in maintaining lanes and much more. The ProPILOT Assist steering system is available as an option and works with cruise control.

So far, only one engine is known to be available in the United States model. This is a 2,5-liter naturally aspirated DOHC engine with 4 cylinders and direct fuel injection. Develops 194 HP and 245 Nm of torque. The crossover gets an intelligent all-wheel drive system with an electro-hydraulic clutch on the rear axle. It has 5 operating modes - SUV, snow, standard, eco and sport. Only the front-wheel drive version has three modes.
