Nissan to debut the e-NV200 in the electricity market in 2013
The carmaker Nissan will release an electric van from its factories in Barcelona, Spain, dubbed the e-NV200. Production will begin by 2013.

Japanese company Nissan will produce the electric van during 2013 at its plant located in the Spanish city of Barcelona. Called the e-NV200, unveiled at the last Detroit auto gathering, the vehicle is designed for families and professionals alike. Thus, the Japanese manufacturer confirms its desire to promote the development of green technologies used in the automotive sector. Various charging points recently installed in France and the Netherlands illustrate the policy of the Nissan Leaf design group. The Barcelona plant, which is already producing a thermal imaging version of the van, the NV200, will invest about 200 million euros in the production of the e-NV100 and undertake a massive recruiting operation.
Nissan positions itself in the field of electric vehicles
If the thermal NV200 was approved by New York City authorities and heralded the taxi of the future, the electric version of the utility should also be functional and practical. In this case, an e-NV200 with built-in technology similar to the Nissan Leaf will have 109bhp. and will be able to travel 160 km without recharging. The batteries will then have to replenish their energy in half an hour, the system also allows electricity to be generated during braking. At the moment, Nissan has not released any information on the number of units that will leave Barcelona, or on the date of their release. On the other hand, the Japanese have clearly expressed their desire to take a leading position in the electricity market by 2016.
