Nissan Qashqai 2.0 dCi 4WD Aut. Premium

This is the history according to the factory data. One cannot ignore the fact that a six-speed automatic transmission (price 1.450 euros) can only be ordered from Slovenian Nissan in combination with a two-liter turbodiesel (110 kilowatts). By the way ? represents the pinnacle of the Qashqai engine offering.

As you probably already learned from the introduction, the automatic transmission tires the joy of the engine a little and makes sure that the path does not lead it towards the brutalists. Everything is served softly. I happened to replace the Qashqai with a CVT with a classic automatic, and since thinking about the first few kilometers was a very relaxed ride with a newbie elsewhere, I didn't even notice that I was dealing with a different gearbox. This was largely due to the very similar gear lever. The first discovery was that the gearbox shifts gears very smoothly (but still noticeable when the head is in the right place), which is also practiced when shifting at full throttle, when the electronics otherwise increase the engine speed to maximum. red field (starts at 4.500 rpm) but shifts gears elegantly and slowly.

The electronics also interfere with manual operation if engine health is compromised by too high revs or if this unit shuts down due to too low speeds. Could history be the other way around? in the middle of automatic mode, the driver decides to shift on his own, moves the gear lever to the left and shifts up to a higher gear forward, or downshifts himself to a lower gear, thus manually shifting.

A “manual” program is not the purpose of such a Qashqai, since automatic operation is quite good: when overtaking or entering a stream, the gearbox does not break, does not hesitate and rarely knocks. Sometimes this happens when shifting from third to second or from second to first gear.

The two-liter dCi diesel engine with turbocharging and common rail injection is certainly even more pronounced in the manual transmission, since the automatic with its softness calms all 150 "horsepower" and a whopping 320 Nm of torque, which otherwise allows you to start work in the second broadcast. With such a Qashqai, you can also be quite fast on the road, just don't expect sweat dripping on your forehead from acceleration. Otherwise, the transmission listens well and insists on a red RPM field when it realizes that the driver wants to drive faster. Faster drivers can only be annoyed by the time it takes the Qashqai to execute a command from the accelerator pedal at engine speed. But time, as we mentioned in the name, is relative, and most drivers do not associate relativity with slowness at all.

In the cold in the morning, the engine is loud as it should be, but then its work calms down to a decent level of decibels and the memory of diesel engines is alive only at higher speeds. The test Qashqai can go pretty well at 1.500 rpm. Thus, with (approximately) one and a half thousand, it smoothly shifts into fourth gear at around 50 km / h.

The Qashqai with an automatic transmission has a higher consumption: the combined consumption, according to the factory data, exceeds the consumption of the Qashqai with a manual transmission by almost a liter of diesel fuel per 100 kilometers. It was also possible to check whether the factory data was correct: the test 2.0 dCi with automatic transmission consumed an average of at least nine liters and a maximum of 10 liters per 3 kilometers. Thus, fuel consumption is not the trump card of this version, which is also associated with a higher body (more resistance), four-wheel drive and a greater vehicle weight, in excess of 100 tons.

The decisive and precise automatic transmission works well with the Qashqai drive, but again there is a limitation: this transmission can only be obtained from us in a complete set with all-wheel drive. The choice of drive is partially left to the driver, who can choose between two or four wheel drive mode (the electronics distributes power to the axle according to need) or turn the selector knob to engage the central differential lock. With its high planted area, the Qashqai SUV is suitable for driving on cart tracks or snow (good tires required), the height (front) makes it more transparent, and it is comfortable to get in and out.

At 352 liters less than one might expect, the variability of the interior space leaves much to be desired (only the backs of the rear seats are lowered), the suspension is comfortable (no matter what unevenness gets into the cabin), and the Premium equipment is so rich that the price of a test Qashqai heights.

In practice, the Qashqai also surprises with a modest tilt of the body depending on the type of vehicle. The engineers who still know what driving pleasure is have also installed a power steering. The interior is interesting, there are still some reserves in ergonomics (unlit buttons, only the driver's glass is automatically lowered, poor readability of the central screen in strong sunlight, the front fog lamp must be turned on to turn on the rear fog lamp), when opening the tailgate, head watch, camera, helps when reversing, it does not work well in the rain. A smart key in Premium equipment makes it easy to use, a Bluetooth-enabled phone enables safer telephony, heated seats ward off winter chills, xenon headlights shine reliably, and 17-inch alloy wheels and a panoramic sunroof make the Qashqai stand out from the rest on the outside.

evaluation

  • This combination must take into account the higher price of the model, higher fuel consumption and lower (but not bad) performance of a two-liter turbodiesel. However, the good trade-offs are the driving comfort, ease of use and reliability with which the all-wheel drive Qashqai rides on almost any terrain. Automatic transmission in the field is not nonsense at all
