Instead, smaller 1.3 DIG-T units with 160 hp were introduced. and 1.7 dCi with 150 hp. The petrol variant is only available with a DCT dual-clutch automatic transmission with front-wheel drive. I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of the continuously variable transmission. xtronic. This is not a classic CVT because it has 7 artificial gears that can be manually controlled. Thanks to this, the engine does not whine during kickdown, and the torque is transferred to the wheels as efficiently as possible. Anyone who has not dealt with a continuously variable transmission before will certainly not understand what exactly it works in Nissan X-Trail.

Off-road driving with the Nissan X-Trail is a lot of fun

In Auto mode, it works without delay, it can also be blocked. Then the torque is supplied to the wheels symmetrically up to a speed of 4 km/h. The effect of these actions is that X-Trailowi gravel and forest dirt paths are not terrible. With a ground clearance of 204 mm, it will also cope with small ruts. I would not risk driving this car into mud and sand. In the same way, 90% of SUVs will get there. In this car, it's about driving to a river, a lake, or overcoming a grassy hill, and it does it perfectly.
