New Audi formula for plug-in hybrids

Audi unveiled its plug-in hybrid (PHEV) concept. Modern technologies combine the use of a conventional combustion engine and an electric motor powered by an ionic battery. The electric motor can significantly reduce harmful emissions and save fuel, while the internal combustion engine does not worry about long battery charging or lack of power. The electric motor also allows energy to be stored in the batteries when using the internal combustion engine.

Audi uses motors in electric drive mode with power up to 105 kW, depending on the car model. The smart system allows optimal switching between electric and combustion engine modes, determining when to store charge in the batteries, when to use electric drive, and when to use the vehicle's inertia. When measured in accordance with the WLTP cycle, the Audi PHEV models achieve an electric range of up to 59 kilometers.

Audi's PHEV vehicles have a charging power of up to 7,4 kW, which can charge hybrid vehicles in 2,5 hours. In addition, it is possible to charge a car on the road - Audi's branded e-tron is approximately 137 charging points in 000 European countries. In addition to a convenient cable charging system for domestic and industrial outlets, all PHEV models come standard with a Mode-25 cable with a Type-3 plug for public charging stations.
