The new Mazda CX-5 was unveiled in Los Angeles with an evolutionary design and improved technology.

The Mazda CX-5 in the previous body became one of the best-selling models of the Japanese firm worldwide, it also kicked off the SkyActive technology in 2012.

Mazda unveiled the next generation CX-5 at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week. The car has received an improved interior, multimedia system and improvements in practicality.

The new CX-5 has wider arches increased by 10 mm, and the A-pillars are 35 mm further from the windshield.

The headlights are slimmer and more elegant. The car is built on a modified version of the existing platform, but while its wheelbase remains the same, other dimensions change slightly. In addition to the fact that the new CX-5 has become wider, it has also become 15 mm lower.

Inside, the CX-5 gets Mazda's latest infotainment system. The new XNUMX-inch display is even clearer than before thanks to a new processor.

The dashboard has also changed, the TFT display has received a higher resolution, as well as the ability to project a picture onto the windshield. Rear seat passengers will receive seat heating, ventilation and rear climate control.

Under the hood, the Mazda CX-5 has been fitted with a 2,2-liter diesel and a 2,0-liter petrol engine, although so far no data on fuel consumption or performance has been provided for these engines. The manufacturer says that in the new Mazda they have increased the torsional rigidity by 15,5 percent.

The updated crossover will also receive another unique color called “red crystal”. The car also received additional security systems, such as:

• radar cruise control;
• system of recognition of road signs.

The new CX-5 will start selling by mid-2017, as the manufacturer assures, so at the moment there is no price as such, but there are approximate figures from which it is worth starting from, they are: 23500 euros for gasoline models and 25000 euros for diesel engines.
