Toyota developed the world's first center airbag for rear seat passengers. It will initially be available in Japan.

Toyota developed the world's first center airbag for rear seat passengers.

The cushion will be included in Toyota models that will debut in Japan in the near future. It is located in the overhead console above the rear seat. In the event of a side impact, the airbag inflates to create a barrier between passengers, thus minimizing the risk of injury from mutual collision and body movement.
