At the historic Assen TT circuit in the Netherlands, Pirelli has unveiled the latest Diablo Rosso Corsa sports bike tires.
According to the manufacturer, the compound used to build the Diablo Rosso Corsa tires was developed as a result of experience and cooperation with specialists, as well as participants in the Superbike World Championship (WSBK) motorcycle series. Differentiation of the mixture between the shoulders of the tire is designed to provide high performance on the track and increased wear resistance in road conditions.
Longer tire life is a consequence of the use of materials with high mechanical strength in the central area of the tire. Pirelli engineers have used special resins and plasticizers, thus ensuring the best balance of grip on wet and dry roads. The new hardening process, developed specifically for new tires, increases their wear resistance, thereby extending the life of the product.
The tread pattern is developed using FGD (Functional Groove Design) technology, which combines a smooth surface with a rear tire shoulder area with concentrated tread sipes. This combination allows the tire to warm up quickly on the racetrack, as well as efficiently evacuate water.
The smooth area at the head of the tire increases the tire-to-road contact area, thereby improving the grip and stability of the motorcycle.
