New in 2016 - sports, convertibles and coupes
At the end of our short series about the novelties of the next year's market, models from the most impractical segments, but, perhaps, the most desirable for fans of four wheels.
While ultra-sport models remain only the fantasy realm of the vast majority of sports car dreaming drivers, so-called hot hatches may not be at your fingertips, but they are certainly a more realistic goal. Hence their great popularity and even on Polish roads they can be found relatively often. More players will join this market segment next year.
Will be on sale in January Peugeot 308 GTi. The top-of-the-range Car of the Year 2014 prepared by the Peugeot Sport team will be offered with a 1,6-litre turbocharged petrol engine in two outputs, 250 and 270 hp. Both will offer 330 Nm of maximum torque. Among the sports accessories of the 308 GTi we can find, among other things, a self-locking differential, sports tires or larger ventilated brake discs with red calipers.
In a month she will start her counterattack Volkswagen Golf GTI Klabsport, a special edition of the most popular hot hatch on the European market on the occasion of its 40th anniversary. Under the hood of the Golf GTI Clubsport is a 265-litre TSI engine boosted to 10 hp, which, thanks to the push to pass system, can increase engine power to 290 hp. in XNUMX seconds. Thus, Clubsport will become the most powerful Golf GTI ever.
Another month and another hot hatch. This time, however, from a slightly different shelf when it comes to drive power. Debut on the Polish market in March Ford Focus RS It will be equipped with a 2,3-liter EcoBoost engine with 350 hp. and a maximum torque of 440 Nm (with Overboost 470 Nm). The new Focus RS also includes all-wheel drive, Dynamic Torque Vectoring Control or Drift Mode, which allows the driver to customize the engine, all-wheel drive and some safety systems.
In the second quarter of the year, one of the most anticipated new products will appear on the market, namely the FIAT 124 Spider. The small roadster is based on the Mazda MX-5, although under the hood we can find an Italian-made 1.4 Multiair engine with 140 hp. If this is not enough for someone, it is worth waiting until the end of the year, when it appears on the market. Abarth 124 Spider. There is no official data yet, but they are talking about at least two versions of the engine - 160 and 190 hp. In the meantime, an updated version will hit the market around the middle of the year. Abortion 500. However, the changes will be minor, mostly visual and inside the cabin.
Debut next year also promises to be interesting Honda NSX. The current version of the sporty Honda is a hybrid, where the V6 petrol unit will be supported by three electric motors. The entire hybrid system will have about 580 hp and the driver will be able to "mix" settings using four driving modes: Quiet (only the electric motors are running), Sport, Sport+ and Track. So far, Honda Poland has not yet announced the exact date for the market debut of the Honda NSX.
Audi has a lot of sports news in store for next year. They will appear in the first quarter. Audi RS6 Avant Performance Oraz Performance RS7. Both models will have 45 hp. more power than standard versions. The twin supercharged V8 engine will produce 605 hp. and maximum torque of 700 Nm. As a result, both Performance models will sprint from 100 to 3,7 km/h in XNUMX seconds. After Audi has started the year strongly, the next hit will have to wait until the last quarter. Mercedes has also prepared four new items for next year and, interestingly, all of the new items are ... convertibles. see at the beginning of the year Mercedes SLK, a small SLK roadster after facelift and name change. Engine versions will also include the AMG (SLC43) which will be powered by a 6 hp 362-cylinder engine. It will also appear updated in the first months of next year. Mercedes SL. A new face, new equipment and slightly beefed up engines are the most important changes to this roadster. In both cases, but certainly more in the first, we will be able to enjoy a comfortable ride with the roof open. Of course, the offer will also include powerful versions, marked with the three AMG letters.
BMW will also launch new products in early spring. It will appear in March BMW M4 GTS, which is an even more uncompromising variation of a sports coupe. From a three-litre, 6-cylinder, twin-charged engine, 500 hp could be squeezed out. and maximum torque of 600 Nm. Changes also included weight reduction and improved aerodynamics. April market premieres, that is, new items, promise to be no less interesting. BMW M2. In this model, the Bavarians hid a 3-liter turbocharged engine with 370 hp. We also find many components from the larger M3 and M4 models. Shortly before the start of spring, new MINI Cabriolet. Larger than its predecessor, it offers more space for passengers and their luggage. Among the technological innovations we can find a system that will warn of possible rains on the route planned in the navigation.
In the range Lexus RC There will be two new engine versions - RC 200t and RC 300h. The first has a 245-liter supercharged gasoline engine with a power of 2,5 hp under the hood, and the second has a hybrid system with a 223-liter gasoline engine and an electric unit with a total power of hp. Fans of rugged Lexus models are sure to expect more. Lexus GS F with a five-liter naturally aspirated engine producing 473 hp. and a maximum torque of 527 Nm, which will reach 4,5 in seconds.
At the end of next year, most likely in November, Polish drivers will be able to purchase Infiniti Q60 coupe, the successor to the G Coupe. Specifications are not yet known, but it is known that there will be 4- and 6-cylinder engines with more than 400 hp.
It promises to be the most unusual premiere next year in this market segment. Range Rover Evoque convertiblethe first luxury SUV and convertible rolled into one. On the first European markets in the spring, in Poland, perhaps a little later.
