New tire labels from November 2012

From November 1, new rules for marking tire parameters will come into force in the European Union. Manufacturers will be required to put special labels on tires.

While the new regulations won't come into effect until November 1, tire companies will be required to label their products from July 1, 2012. This provision applies to tires for all passenger cars, vans and trucks.

Information labels must be displayed on all products and must also be available in print and electronic form in promotional materials. Moreover, information about tire parameters can also be found on purchase invoices.

What exactly will the label contain? So, there are three main parameters of this tire: rolling resistance, wet grip and external noise level. While the first two will be given on a scale from A to G, the last of these parameters will be expressed in decibels.
