Japanese tire manufacturer Bridgestone is known to bikers for the quality of its road / sports tires. Indeed, the Bridgestone S20 and especially the S21 tires have been able to satisfy sports bikers looking for optimal traction while providing a certain amount of durability. While the automaker launched the Battlax Hypersport S21 tires in early 2016, Bridgestone plans to release a successor within a few weeks. Indeed, the S22 tires should go on sale from the beginning of 2019 with the same goals: better grip and longer service life !

It is a Exhibition Paris Intermot 2018 that Bridgestone has announced the imminent launch of a new set of motorcycle tires: the Battlax Hypersport S22! This new hypersport tire has the daunting task of replacing the S21.

The Japanese manufacturer announced that S22 tires coming out in January 2019... Consequently, some new bikes will be equipped with the S22 from the beginning of 2019. We think in particular about motorcycles from the manufacturer Yamaha, in particular about the MT-10.

As for the Battlax S21, this tire will continue to be sold in 2019 as a second option... Its better price and excellent performance will give it a few months to sell off the stock.

Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S22 tire specifications

S21 is one of the best motorcycle tires in the world. After many tests, the experts agreed that this is one of the best frames for motorcyclists on the road in terms of sport. Tests on the track gave the same result: S21 tires allow you to go fast and far. The success of S21 is mainly due to the compound composition and technology of compound thrips.

It is in this context that the new S22 model is launched. But Bridgestone has already told the press that Battlax S22 will be an improved version of the S21 in all respects : Better grip on dry ground and in corners, increased durability, ... Sports riders will put more confidence in their bike with the S22, whether it is a sporty ride on any track or track.

Indeed, the S21 was already a tire ideal for occasional races on the track. The S22 wants to go further and become a true benchmark. For this Bridgestone worked Tire design and tread S22 to improve the dissipation of energy, water and handling of the motorcycle.

La focusing on the angle of the bike will improve traction due to the greater rigidity on the shoulders of the tire. In addition, the shoulders are always very soft, which indicates the almost slippery tires on the sides.

Finally, the manufacturer has reworked its tire composition by adding new rubber compounds. The S22 tires will have a dual compound at the front and a triple compound at the rear. Thus, the tire will be softer on the sides, and the center tread will be more resistant to wear and will improve traction. In particular, the tread has been redesigned with a silica content 25% higher than the S21 tire. Something that will appeal to both pilots and bikers who love long motorcycle rides.

Concerning available tire sizes S22Bridgestone announced that all sizes will not be available until January 2020. Therefore, not all motorcycles can be equipped with these new tires from 2019 depending on the rim size. Here is the release date for the S22 tires according to their dimensions.
